Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

The story is pretty good but the reader really makes it interesting. Love hearing a story from a woman's perspective.

If you could sum up Two for the Dough in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, Funny, Easy- read

What other book might you compare Two for the Dough to and why?

J.D. Robbs Death Series because the leading character of this series, Eve Dallas is also a strong woman living in a man's profession. Very funny and strong characters too. The narrator also does a wonderful job bring the characters out.

What about C. J. Critt’s performance did you like?

Nice and pleasant voice, shows you the characters nicely

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Stephenie Plum's antics

Any additional comments?

One minute the book is serious and the next you are laughing out loud , good strong characters.

I can't wait to read or listen to the whole series

Would you listen to Two for the Dough again? Why?

I am attracted to stories with lots of humor. This series is satisfying my "giggle quotient" quite nicely!

What did you like best about this story?

Stephanie is improving as a bounty hunter, but still has a long way to go. She knows just enough to really dangerous - in the most hilarious ways. I also love her family and they are key players in this story, which I appreciated.

What does C. J. Critt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ms. Critt reads the story very seriously, which makes the humor even more enjoyable. I am used to the Jersey accent now and hardly noticed it at all. (Sorry, not a fan of Jersey accents. Just so you know, I have a midwestern accent and I know that isn't universally loved either, so I hope no one take offense at this comment, because there is no offense intended - just a matter of taste.)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I laughed throughout this book even more than I did book one. Thanks for the enjoyable listen!

Any additional comments?

I love Stephanie's family and how "real" this family unit appears to be. I want to be adopted by Grandma Mazur - she steals the show in this book. It is nice to see how much Stephanie loves her Grandma, apricot hair and all! (PS - I think Stephanie gets her style from Grandma Mazur - LOL!)

More Enjoyable than Book One!

I have just started this series but I am loving it. I have seen many negative comments about the narrator and I do agree she can't compare to Lorelei King. But if you start listening to Critt first you should be fine. I loved the story. I have been listening while I work out at the Y and I keep getting looks because I am laughing so hard. I am giving four stars due to the narrator. Like others have said, her voice doesn't fit the character.

Love Stephanie and Grandma Mazer

The story is good, engaging, sometimes funny but would it kill the author to use the word PURSE???? Seriously. These books weren't written in 1950, who called their purse their pocketbook in the 1990s when this was published??? And why is she constantly referring to her pocketbook and her grandmother's pocketbook, etc, etc, etc. It really, really got on the nerves. The narrator was great, good performance I thought other than the odd mispronounced word.

If I hear the word "pocketbook" again....
