“A cross between The Hot Zone and ’Salem’s Lot.”
Entertainment Weekly

“I cannot wait to see where Del Toro and Hogan take us next.”
—James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of Bloodline

The wait is over! Guillermo del Toro, one of Hollywood’s most popular and imaginative storytellers (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) and Hammett Award-winning thriller writer Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves) return with The Fall—the second blood-chilling volume in their critically acclaimed, New York Times bestselling Strain Trilogy. The Fall picks up where The Strain left off—with a vampiric infection spreading like wildfire across America as a small band of heroes struggles to save the dwindling human race from the vampire plague. Horror fiction and dark fantasy fans will be swept up in this epic story that bestselling author Nelson DeMille describes as “Bram Stoker meets Stephen King meets Michael Crichton.”

I very much enjoyed the first book in this series. I didn't even mind Ron Perlman's narration, which so many other reviewers disliked.

Those readers will be happy to know that Perelman has been replaced by Daniel Oreskes. Oreskes is a better choice as a reader, but having started with Perlman, it feels strange without him.

The story is entertaining, but lacks the sense of frightening urgency from the initial installment.

Disappointing

The story was solid, the characters are developed further, It builds to a great cliff hanger. All that said I still missed Mr. Pearlman.

What happened to Mr. Pearlman?

This is truly what a great audiobook is all about. This book is just simply entertaining and draws you into this dark and scary world. A well developed story and a stellar performance, I only wish more books were done this well, it makes it hard to go back and I find myslef listening to these books when I can't find anything else and I am bored with the same old formula books that are so predictable. I can't wait for the third installment.

Good writing and wonderful performance!!!
