Jeffery Deaver
Deaver is back with sixteen stories in the tradition of O. Henry and Edgar Allan Poe. His subjects range from a Westchester commuter to a brilliant Victorian England caper. With these intricately plotted, bone-chilling stories, Jeffery Deaver is at the top of his crime-writing game.©2006 Jeffery Deaver. All rights reserved; (P)2006 Simon and Schuster Inc. "More Twisted" had some of my favourite short stories of all time and I was disappointed that two of them - "Born Bad" and "Interrogation" - weren't included in this collection, but I'm happy to report that the ones that were are still excellent (especially "The Commuter", one of my favourite nasty little treats!!) Deaver is a master at subverting your expectations and just when you think you've figured out the twist, BAM! You find out just how very wrong you were. He's fantastic at playing into your prejudices and preconceived notions to turn a story right on its head!
As for narration, I have NO complaints there at all - every reader did an excellent job and carried the stories well.
Despite this audiobook only containing half of the printed version's stories, I still highly recommend it. It's fantastic for commuting (just be careful who you're rude to if you do!) ;)
When they say "Collected", they really mean "Half"
