Publisher's Summary

The co-creator of the Chicken Soup series, Mark Victor Hansen, and the personal finance author, Robert Allen, have come together in a collaboration that combines inspiration with know-how. Uniquely organized, The One Minute Millionaire combines fiction and nonfiction to show the way to true wealth. Half the book is a fable about a woman faced with a terrible dilemma: Michelle must earn a million dollars in 90 days to keep her family together. In the other half, complementing the fable point for point, are brilliant nuts-and-bolts millionaire minutes; summaries of attitudes, strategies, and techniques for building wealth, lessons Michelle needs to act upon to reach her goal. By bringing these right and left brain approaches together, Hansen and Allen show how to overcome fears and doubts and leap over the roadblocks that limit potential. Both authors have earned multiple millions through their careers. With The One Minute Millionaire they want to share their knowledge to bring out the enlightened millionaire they believe exists in everyone.

    "In the wrong category?"

I've listened to many of the excellent business titles available here and I need to say that this is the worst. It is very light on business details and heavy on the self help style. While it is very inspirational, I found it lacking in much of what I had hoped for. The authors are very religious and seem to focus more on that than on business. When the book finally did get around to discussing business strategies, they talked about some sketchy sounding ways to trick people into taking no money down on real estate, and their great internet money making scheme of sending mass email. There were some good points brought up in the book, such as how you want multiple streams of income and how to put together a good team. but overall the details were lacking in many of the important categories.

    "Feel Good Nonsense"

This is the biggest bunch of happy horse-hockey I've ever heard. Just a bunch of rah-rah, "believe it and it will happen", Stuart Smalley-type idiocy. Not a single piece of useful or insightful or original information. It's hard to believe it goes on so long.

    "Excellent!"

This book was a great listen. I like the fact that there are a few different authors of the book, each reading parts...makes it easy to listen to. The teachings of this book are very motivational and inspire me to keep pushing towards success!

    "Nothing useful here"

What a load of garbage. There wasn't a single useful piece of information here. It was full of pie in the sky tid bits. I felt like I was listening to a time share sales pitch!

"Great Book - Absolutely Fantastic Narration"

This book is delivered in two parts, a non fiction element spoken by the authors, and a modern day parable, spoken by the narrator.

The non-fiction element has excellent narration, and the affirmations and messages are really inpsiring and home-hitting, no matter how far you are on the way to being a millionaire. I cant overemphasise how good this book is to listen to!

I didn't care for the second (fiction story) element of the book - it was just too contrived and not very interesting (trying too hard to tug at the heart strings). But hey! 6 hours of excellent content out of 12 hours still makes this book an absolute bargain.

"The Whole Thing is a Sales Pitch"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone who is Mormon will probably love it.

What do you think your next listen will be?

My next listen will definitly have solid business advice, not feel-good "believe it and God will give it to you" messages.

What didn’t you like about Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen ’s performance?

Their reading just sounded like a sales pitch.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The One Minute Millionaire?

    The One Minute Millionaire

    Any additional comments?

The entire book is one big batch of propaganda to get you to go on their website, join their club, buy their stuff, try their "no money down" real estate schemes. In refelcting back about what I heard, I can't say that I remember anything that truly stuck with me as beneficial.

    "two ways of learning"

The methods outlined in this book are practical and easy to implement into one's. The lessons are taught two ways. As a series of principles and then a person's (fictious) stories. While the scenario in the story was ideal, it still did a great job of teaching how to apply them.

    "A Life Transformational Experience"

My wife and I enjoyed this book, our lives are forever changed. If your are not willing to transform your life this book will be useless to you. The split in the book between left and right brain is excellent. I used the novel part to introduced this book to my wife, within the first few minutes she was crying like a baby, she was overcome by her emotion. So I have my first member of my Dream Team. Important concepts discussed are Manifestation, Aha's, Millionaire Equation, Networking, Mentorship, Power of Leverage and Applying Maximum Leverage. It has open our eye, now we can see the Abundance of opportunities in South Africa.
