About this listen

He's Just Not That Into You, based on the popular episode of Sex and the City, educates otherwise smart women on how to tell when a guy just doesn't like them enough, so they can stop wasting time making excuses for a dead-end relationship.

Reexamining familiar scenarios and classic mindsets that keep us in unsatisfying relationships, Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo's wise and wry understanding of the sexes spares women hours of waiting by the phone, obsessing over the details with sympathetic girlfriends, and hoping his mixed messages really mean "I'm in love with you and want to be with you".

He's Just Not That Into You is provocative, hilarious, and, above all, intoxicatingly liberating. It knows you're a beautiful, smart, funny woman who deserves better. The next time you feel the need to start "figuring him out", consider the glorious thought that maybe He's Just Not That Into You. And then set yourself loose to find the one who is.

Women are taught, at a very early age, how to stay in relationships. They know how to connect interpersonally. Men, on the other hand, are taught, at an early age, how to get into relationships... and that's it. That is all they know.

As a guy, I have recommended this book to every single woman I know. It is painful, but it is the truth. If you want to know what goes through a guy's mind (or what isn't going through it) listen to this book.

We Are Pathetic

In order to make this book more accessible, the authors often use easy maxims, such as "He doesn't call." to try to get the point across that "He's not that into you." This makes the book easy to criticize (and I have my own issue with "Women should never make the first move.").

However, after listening to the entire book, one realizes that the underlying message is that if the person you are dating (and I agree with previous reviewers that this book would help both men and women) is not treating you the way you want/deserve, you need to move on.

I do take issue with the previous reviewer who uses the example of a woman who talks of marriage before the salad; that is not who this book is for or about (perhaps he should FINISH the book before reviewing it).

Sadly enough, the examples used in this book include the woman who hopefully dates a married man for a year, or the other woman whose partner refuses to commit for whatever reason after many years. When years (and pride, I mean, please, a married person?!) are lost, "having fun" is no longer funny.

If anything, I do think this book PROMOTES dating, as it makes sure a woman doesn't get stuck on and "wait for" someone who is not good for her for the long run.

This book teaches me to spend my time with people who truly like me and who meet my standards of a decent human being. Not to much to ask for, is it?

A good basic message.

MEN do the the same things as these women do. If you think this book applies to women only you are sadly mistaken. Men can benefit from this book also. I can't tell you how many times I have gone out with or heard my friends talk about women who do these same things as Gregg says men do. Must read for anyone ( male or female ) who is dating. Or really in any social setting.

This is one of those books that you will not want to stop listening to once you start. It is hilarious in its presentation and painfully truthful in topics presented. The sting if the truth delivered with humor makes it easier to accept without beating yourself up for not seeing the patterns before.

GREAT book, worth listening to if you are single or have single friends who often discuss their dating life with you. Enjoy!

Hilariously helpful

This book states some things that we would think would be pretty obvious, but after being in lots of unhappy and unfulfilling relationships this book hit me like a freight train. I listened to it twice just to be sure I took it all in. The narration can be a little annoying at times since they do comical voicing and there is music, etc, but the content is great. It really dives in to all the things we put up with in relationships and gives details to why we are better than that. This book was a much needed reality check for me.

I NEEDED to read this

If you are lucky enough to be 40 and dating again (I would NOT call this lucky at all), then you need to read/listen to this book! It’s absolutely amazing and spot on. I listened to this in my car every time I was driving and finished it in less than three days.

The way that Greg and Liz narrate this book is great, and the way the information is given to us is over-the-top, and hilarious too!

They go over every single scenario in dating you can possibly imagine, all leading to one important message: “He’s Just Not That Into You”.

Since reading this, it has made my life so much easier in determining silly thoughts and questions when dealing with men and dating. I highly recommend this book to us ladies. It has helped me move on much quicker and stop calling/texting.

It was an enlightening, affirming book for women who notice they keep making the same mistakes in relationships. Some of the tales were funny, but my favorite part was in the end when the topic turned to looking at how to do things differently.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to read.! It was a confirmation and reminder to me of who I am and my worth. Had to bookmark several sections as references cause as I was driving and listening it was impossible for me to write them down. I'm hoping for a part 2!

This book was exactly what I needed !

Great book, so happy to get a man's point of view I just found the "don't ask a man out, he'll ask you if he really likes you" kind of dated. Other than that, great book.

Excellent Advice just a bit dated
