A story filled with danger and excitement, Johnny Tremain tells of the turbulent, passionate times in Boston just before the Revolutionary War.

Johnny, a young apprentice silversmith, is caught with Otis, Hancock, and John and Samuel Adams in the exciting operations and subterfuges leading up to the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Lexington. As Johnny is forced into the role of a full-grown man in the face of his new country's independence, he finds that his relations with those he loves changes for the better as well.

Johnny Tremain is historical fiction at its best, portraying the living drama of Revolutionary Boston through the shrewd eyes of an observant boy.

I loved it with the audio. So much easier! Also the woman speaking actually puts some emotion into the reading and adds some character voices. My peers seem to hate it reading out of the book but yet I love it hearing it.
SPOILER ALERT:Johnny dies. jk. ITS JUST A PRANK BRO

Audio Goals💗😻

This was a greatly accurate, and detailed piece on historical fiction. This story had the ability to bring both facts and tears to your eyes. Yet, overall, patriotism and anger.

I love this story from the 1st time I read it in Mr Coachman's 4th grade class, at South Elementary school, Hermosa Beach, Calif.

This is a classic story, but the narration negatively impacts the experience. The narrator sounds as though she has a slight southern-sounding accent -- especially when performing the speaking parts. This is unfortunate because it sounds like you're listening to Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer instead of Johnny Tremain. The accent is very distracting for a book that takes place in Boston.

I enjoyed this book as a young lad probably about 30 35 years ago, wow has it been that long? back then it was just another story for me to read. but now as I've grown older I really like the revolutionary war. so this story kind of had a dual interest this time around. as I was listening to it, I guess I forgot that Johnny Tremain was kind of a bully in the beginning. it's kind of funny I always remember him being like an underdog which he kind of becomes after he's injured. is a good story for children, give a decent background and a little flare for the Boston area.

Fun trip down nostalgia lane

This was an enjoyable read...but I do not like the ending. It left too many loose ends and it left the reader on a negative note. I know that not all stories have a happy ending, but the story of the American Revolution actually does have a happy ending (for Americans, at least).

Great book, bad ending
