A story filled with danger and excitement, Johnny Tremain tells of the turbulent, passionate times in Boston just before the Revolutionary War.

Johnny, a young apprentice silversmith, is caught with Otis, Hancock, and John and Samuel Adams in the exciting operations and subterfuges leading up to the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Lexington. As Johnny is forced into the role of a full-grown man in the face of his new country's independence, he finds that his relations with those he loves changes for the better as well.

Johnny Tremain is historical fiction at its best, portraying the living drama of Revolutionary Boston through the shrewd eyes of an observant boy.

If you are looking for a living book, that not only brings the Revolutionary War to life but also the reasons for the war and way of life at that time, then this is it. The quality narration makes it that much more enjoyable.

This was one of the books I have to read for School. I didn't really enjoy the beginning (I thought it needed more action). As you read (listen😁) you will enjoy it alot better than the beginning. Anyways I just love how it was Sad, Exiting, and it made me want to keep reading until the end.

I can’t believe I never got the chance to read this classic school book. When I found out it was also an award-winning classic children’s book, I knew that I had to read it. This book was a surprisingly good read. Definitely glad I got to listen to the book and listen to the audiobook narrated by Grace Conlin. Definitely will keep the audiobook in my collection even if I have to return the book to the library. Would recommend parents read this book with their kids or give it as a gift. The action of an upcoming war and growth of the characters will draw everyone in.

I first read this book as a schoolboy, about 1975. I just shared listening to it with my 10 year old son. Highly recommended for boys and men.
