The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. Nathaniel Cade returns.

For 140 years, Nathaniel Cade has been the president's vampire, sworn to protect and serve his country. Cade's existence is the most closely guarded of White House secrets: a superhuman covert agent who is the last line of defense against nightmare scenarios of which ordinary citizens only dream. When a new outbreak of an ancient evil - one that he has seen before - comes to light, Cade and his human handler, Zach Barrows, must track down its source. To "protect and serve" often means settling old scores and confronting new betrayals...as only a centuries-old predator can.

This is a great series. Like-able characters, good premise. Imagine HellBoy with a vampire instead of a devil, and you've got the idea of this book. Well narrated.

I enjoyed every minute of this series. It was a refreshing change from the usual vampire tales, with new creatures and monsters and a story line that is unique.

I cannot say enough positive things about Bronson Pinchot's narration skills. He is one of the very best.

If you like the vibe from the Hard Magic and Monster Hunters Series by Larry Correia you'll enjoy the Blood Oath trilogy as well.

Book two is another great installment in the series. can hardly wait to start book three.

Couldn't stop listening

Engaging storyline with robust characters. The narrator Bronson Pinchot was fabulous. I look forward to starting the next book in the series.

Great story and narrator.

Books remind me of the Laundry series accept using America instead of England making them far more brutal and less humorous . This doesn't make the book bad, in fact it is a nice change of pace from what we normally see.

More fun modern horror fantasy espionage

Would you listen to The President's Vampire again? Why?

I'm not really sure. The character development and interaction is very enjoyable. The general overall story is also enjoyable. But it is laced with a fairly pronounced anti-military slant. And he relates hit attacks against the military like someone who watched the wars on TV and doesn't really have any first-hand knowledge. The attacks are tiresome and unoriginal, and they really aren't necessary in the telling of an otherwise very enjoyable story.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Christopher Farnsworth is a very talented storyteller. I came into this book fearing that characters from the previous book were going to be shallow rehashes. But the reality is that this story started with characters that were developed well by the events that took place between books, and I really enjoyed the main collection of people.

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I followed Bronson Pinchot over to this series from another series that he did. He is incredibly talented in building the characters as he voices them. And that talent carries into this book. I can almost picture the characters as he is voicing them. I'd never guess they all came from the same person if I didn't know better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I nearly did. As I mentioned previously, once I adjusted my mind to ignore the obvious agenda, I found the story to be very enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

If you are in the Marines or the Army and are considering this story, be ready for uninformed and repetitive mention of uncaring military shooting children and torturing prisoners, and hints that terrorists are justified. And be ready for them to be obvious attacks outside the content of the overall story. But if you can ignore this content, you may find that the rest of the story is a lot of fun.

Near constant attacks against the military

If you like me are looking for something to capture your attention that's still has a high degree of excellence look no further. This series of books, the President's Vampire, are outstanding in almost every way.

Second listen is better than the first

I don't imagine you're reading this unless you've read the first installment of the series, 'Blood Oath'. If I'm being honest, this second book in the series is a shade less potent than the first installment. Still pretty darn good though - I definitely recommend reading / listening. I'm maintaining the five star rating because, at the time I'm writing this, I've read the third book, which was awesome. Overall, this series holds five stars. If you're a fan of 'Blood Oath' but think this is a weaker tea, keep drinking, you'll be happy you did.

Excellent series - keep reading
