"Douglas Adams is a terrific satirist....He is anything but harmless." (The Washington Post Book World)
"Hitchhiker fans rejoice!...[Here's] more of the same zany nonsensical mayhem." (The New York Times Book Review)
"Love Hitchiking"
Hitchhiker is just plain fun. I loved the series when i was young. I read it in college, and again in Med school, and again when i started reading for pleasure again, and now I am going to listen to them all.
I cannot wait. I just wish Douglas was alive for more, but I am about to read Coffer's installment (or try) for a 6th book in the series.
"Still funny, and the perfect narrator"
I cannot think of a more natural choice for the narrator. Not just because he played Arthur Dent in the movie (if I recall correctly), but because he has the dawdling Brit thing down so well.
It makes me think Freeman and Douglas Adams were kindred spirits.
I've read the books, and listening to this was no less of a pleasure.
"Most exaiting"
I would recomend it to friends and famely, the serie is wondrful and I hope it will mak people think.
Well I wold compare it to the rest of the hitchiker ore somthing like dun. There is only one.
He do all the charekters well, whit the exeption of zhafod.
I would like to listen to most of my books in one setting, but life is not so easy.
It is a exilarating storry that I which every one to read or hear.
"Mostly wonderful."
Martin Freeman did a fantastic job narrating. Voices were varied and distinguishable, but more than that, they fit each character wonderfully. Each voice, each reading of the dialouge seemed to have been chosen with astute consideration.
Although there are some bright spots, most of this book is pretty bleak. I happen to love the addition of Random though, and the effect she has on Arthur.
I loved getting another helping of THGTTG.
