"Loved the story but ......"
Where does Empire of Gold rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?One of the best stories I have istened to. All of the Andy McDermott books keep me entertained with bigger than life characters and adventure.
How could the performance have been better?The one problem I had with this book was the narration, it was slow and all the characters were too similar. I can't figure out why they changed narrators. I had to actually spped up the playback on my iPod just to make the words flow a little better.
Any additional comments?The entire series of books with Eddie Chase and Nina Wilde are very fun to listen to. Eddie Chase kind of reminds me of Dirk Pitt with a serious chip on his shoulder.

"Series Fan"
What made the experience of listening to Empire of Gold the most enjoyable?This is a fantastic series. I have loved every book. The series really needs to be developed into a Major Motion picture.
How did the narrator detract from the book?The voices of the charcters were to simular. Gildart Jackson did an excellent job. Bring him back.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?Indiana Jones meets National Treasure

"avid fan doesn't like new narrator"
I have listened to all the books by Andy McDermott and have so enjoyed them that I was so anxious for this new one only to be disappointed by the narrator - I enjoyed gildart and his voices for the characters I am having a hard time enjoying this one as much - hard to follow story and make out distinctions between characters - bring back Gildart!

"Bring Back Gildart Jackson"
Let me start off by saying I have listen to all the Eddie Chase Nina Wild novels. Although they can be a little cheesy with the action / near death experiences, they are very entertaining. I am half way thru this current novel and I am having trouble continuing. It has nothing to do with the story it is the narrator. He is not bad compared to others I have heard but he dose not capture the characters of these novels. Gildart Jackson although a little goofy at times with the voice impressions did a very good job of bringing out the humor of Andy's books. I say bring back Gildart Jackson. By the way I recommend all the books and you should listen / read them in order.
