But the LAPD's organized crime unit is curiously uninterested, and when Harry follows a trail of gambling debts to Las Vegas, the case suddenly becomes more complex - and much more personal. A rekindled romance with an old girlfriend opens new perspectives on the murder, and he begins to glimpse a shocking triangle of corruption and collusion. Yanked off the case, Harry himself is soon the one being investigated. But only a bullet can stop Harry when he's searching for the truth.
Impressed? Ace detective Harry Bosch is also on the case in other exciting Michael Connelly crime-fiction novels.

Trunk Music is one of the earlier Harry Bosch books. Harry once again runs afoul of the LAPD and the FBI and once again is investigated by the Internal Affairs Division of the department. The book is fast paced with lots of plot twists and turns, mobsters and cops gone bad. Bosch builds and strengthens his relationship with Jerry and Kiz, his two recurring partners, bonds with Grace Billet his supervisor, and gets married to his early flame Eleanor Wish. Along the way, Harry solves the crime and helps the FBI solve theirs. A great way to spend 13 hours.
Hopelessly addicted to Audio Books! I started listening as a distraction to the aggravation of driving, now I listen all the time :)
This one is typical Connelly fare, which means it's a good book.
A conclusion and finale was a little unerwhelming, so I hold it to 4 stars instead of 5.
Dick Hill does a very good job as narrator (as usual)
This is my first Connelly audiobook... I have previously read and enjoyed 'Harry Bosch' so I was drawn to this early title and I wasn't disappointed.
Another great storyline that hooked me and kept me wanting to listen.
Really enjoyed the narration and will definitely search out more 'Connelly' and/or 'Hill' audiobooks.
This is my favorite Bosch except for Echo Park. Good story, great characters. Dick Hill, the narrator, personifies Bosch for me. I think he is an amazing actor and he really *makes* the book. I wish he narrated all of the books in the series....
Yes, if you are a fan of Harry Bosch, you would love this book. It is full of his character and style of investigation.
I am always a fan of Michael Connelly, especially of detective Bosch series. I have not yet found one that I didn't like. Great story and the characters.
Love it and his voice fits with all the characters that he developed in this book.
Each book in the Harry Bosch Series stands alone, but if you are as addicted to Harry as I am, start at #1 and don't stop! Harry is a wonderfully quirky, feisty, psychologically complex, whole human being. Michael Connelly does what the best writers do, he captures us with his characters and teaches without preaching. The subject matter in each book is well-researched, his heroes and villains are human and fallible, and his outcomes are often unexpected and always entertaining.
Harry is always my favorite character.
Nothing extreme. MC does a superb job of building tension and keeping the reader on alert for the unexpected. Whether you read mysteries with an eye to figuring out the plot, or just to enjoy the story, MC will touch multiple buttons on your emotional switchboard.
You can listen to each book in the series multiple times and enjoy each for their character development and topic exploration even if you remember each detail of the plot! Not always the case with mystery writers!
Dick Hill is a terrific narrator. Michael Connelly is a terrific writer.
Harry of course
No one does Harry better than Dick Hill.
I almost did!
Edgar. He is funny yet serious. Sometimes he is Harry's conscience.
I like the way he portrays Bosch.
Yes, when Bosch gets married.
I love the Bosch series. A NYPD in Los Angles.
Highly recommend the Harry Bosch series. We are ready to order book 6 and can't wait to start listening!
