The Royal Spyness series continues with an all-new mystery of "the British monarchy...a wedding in Transylvania...[and] wonderful characters." (#1 New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris).
Penniless and 34th in line to the throne, Lady Georgiana Rannoch finds herself in a truly draining state of affairs. To escape her hateful brother, Georgie accepts an invitation from the Queen to represent the royals at a wedding in Transylvania. But at the macabre- looking castle, Georgie finds the bride with blood running down her chin, and a wedding guest is poisoned. Now it's up to Georgie to save the nuptial festivities before the couple's vows become: to love and to cherish, till undeath do them part.

I love genre fiction but enjoy discoving something new. Mysteries are my favorite.
"A little predictable"
I love this series and this book is very good but I took one star off because there is some very cliche vampire stuff. Not a huge part of the book but enough to be just a little distracting. In general though, I love Lady Georgie. There is just enough scene setting to establish a very charming version of Europe in the late 30's and each character is distinct and interesting. The mysteries aren't all that challenging or complicated but I don't mind.
"Love this series!"
I love this series. Katherine Kellgren is my favorite narrator, and the Royal Spyness mysteries are just fun. Can't wait for the next one.
"Performance is key!"
Once more, Katherine Kellgren has done a great job narrating the Royal Spyness series. I love how she's able to provide all the characters with a distinctive voice and her ability to do accents is amazing. I am not too keen about the whole 'vampire' storyline but, overall, it was fun to listen to.
"Very enjoyable"
This was lots of fun as well as a good puzzle. I am just disappointed that there seem to be only four Royal Blood stories. Since I use audio books as a sleep aid, this book and the rest in the series are perfect for my purposes. They are not so grizzly as to keep me awake, but still keep my interest so that I can hardly wait to get back to listening.
"Rhys Bowen hits another one out of the park!"
If you enjoy a historically based novel, have a background knowledge of the English royal family, enjoy a strong female character, like mysteries, & enjoy twisted humour - then you will love this series. There is a bit of romance, but it doesn't overshadow the storyline. The reader does a great job depicting the cast of characters. Would love to hear more by this author.
"Always good fun"
This is one of the series I thoroughly enjoy and is a new staple for me. Always delivers humorous fun. Very good reader, stories are fluffy but you know that before you buy the book. Entertainment value is solid.
"Royal Blood is Bloody Good"
I was surprised at who-dun-it...
Katherine is a wonderful reader...Coco
All these books are great pot boilers
"Light but entertaining"
It is a very light mystery story but I found it entertaining. I will look for other books narrated by Katherine Kellgren, I enjoyed her performance.
I'm addicted to audiobooks. I've listened to probably 300 (maybe more) audiobooks most of which are historical romances. Listening is much easier than reading and you can do other things while listening. When reading you can't do anything but read.
"Bloody good!"
I love the Royal Spyness series! The story is entertaining and extremely well written. The narrator is TOP NOTCH! This series is fun and light.
