"Why Switch Narrators??"
I love the series.
HATE that they switched narrators.
WHY after 3 books would they do that? I didn't dislike or like the original one, but this one is all wrong! It's hard to tell the characters apart. Maybe it will grow on me, but I'm having a really hard time getting through this book because of the narrator.
"Narrator too young sounding"
As an adult I have enjoyed reading the House of Night series. I regularly listen to audio books. So, when I saw the forth book available on audible I decided to get it. I was very disappointed. This book is about a 17 year almost adult vampire. This narrator makes all the characters, including adults sound like they are about ten years old.
As noted on Amazon, this series is not for children. It is for an older teenager (16+) and the content is mature, which is another reason why the narrator just does not work. I'm going to read the book, and stop listening.
"Wrong Narrator"
I have enjoyed the first three books and was exited to listen to the fourth. However 30 min into it and I don't think I can listen anymore. The narrator sounds to be about 10 to 12 years old which I find slightly disturbing considering the adult content of this series. The voice does not fit the main character of Zoey and the voices she uses for the other characters are just plain sad. Wish the Narrator could have stayed the same through the whole series.
"Great book but Narrator????"
So far my favorite of the series. But the narrator is not that great. I LOVE the first narrator. She had different voices and you knew who was talking before she said it. This one sounds like she is 12! Bring back Edwina!
"Bad Narrator Change!"
It was another great story fro P.C. and Kristin Cast. The story rates 5 stars, but the awful narration should almost bring it down to a 3 star book. The girl sound like a child, telling a pretty grown up story. It just sounds wrong. I actually turned it off half way through and went out and bought the actual book. I should have listened to the feedback. It's to bad it overshadowed an otherwise great YA story. I sure hope they go back to the old narrator, or this will be my last audiobook from this series.
"Great story"
Yes, I agree I liked he narrator in the first few books better, but after a while I got used to this narrator, and I definately wouldn't not buy it just because of this!
“There is no friend as loyal as a book.” ― Ernest Hemingway
"Please!! Just Please!!"
Seriously!! I want the old narrator back. This reader makes the story sound much less interesting or exciting. I was sort of wishing they can find a better one, but they didn't.
"Love these books"
Although I love the narrater of the first 3 I trully thought Jenna Lamia was perfect in the last 2 books, her voice was that of a young teenager and made a totally perfect fit, I was not in the least sorry of the change..
"Great Series... Horrible Narrator!"
Loved the first three books, narrator of those books did great seperating the characters! This LITTLE GIRL ruins this book,I can't even finish the book! Please find someone else to narrate anymore books in this series.
"The worst of the series"
Zoey not only lied, but cheated on her boyfriend. She gets caught and then has the testicle fortitude to tell the injured party (Her boyfriend) that he owes HER an apology??!? WTF?!?
"What you saw was me making the biggest mistake of my life, he was using me." So because the guy had ulterior motives somehow that excuses her from blame, and make Erik's anger inexcusable? OH PLEASE!!! She made a bad choice and now she has to live with the consequences (Which poetically enough puts her in the skankville she once case Aphrodite in.)
Erik owes her nothing but a B-slap. If Blake had been a good guy, she would be "Oh get over it!" to Erik, but because she was 'seduced' by an agent of evil she thinks she is owed an apology for Erik being upset. This isn't sci-fi, or science fiction. This is the laws of physics turned upside down and backwards. Zoey has become an awful primadonna, who feels entitled to things she herself would NEVER give. Had she caught Erik working the shuffle with Aphrodite, and was upset about it how do you think she would react if Erik said, you owe me an apology for being upset about it.
The new narrator is also a major distraction and ruins the continuity. I enjoy the other characters, and again what is up with Zoey falling in love with every Tom, Dick and Harry? I seriously hope she is the reincarnation of the clay lady and must sacrifice herself to trap the demon.
Also Amazon and the Authors have sent notifications out that these books are not meant for the 9 years and up they are advertised as. So it would be nice if Audible could put it where it belongs and get rid of the "This is audible kids". I do love the supporting case, they make it worth it, since Zoey has become drunk on her own power and entitlement. I hate to quit a series but if she keeps acting like this, I will be forced to. It is one thing to be flawed, another to act as Zoey has.
