In the Ichidian Universe, the League and its ruthless assassins continue to keep rule. But at what cost? Welcome back to the future...and a whole new world.
Devyn Kell spent his life in service to the League until he learned of the double dealing and backstabbing that was costing innocent people their lives. Refusing to play those politics, he became a Runner - someone who makes sure planets get the weapons, medicine and supplies they need to survive. May the gods have mercy on any who get in his way, because he definitely won't. Alix Garran is a woman on the run from a past she can't escape. Signing on to work for Devyn as a System's Engineer, she finds a cause she can fight for - and a man she can respect. But as Alix's past catches up to her, and Devyn's old enemies turn lethal, they have to fight together...or fall alone.

"Best listening ever!!!"
I had the pleasure meeting the at a comic convention about 2 years ago and was given my first book Seize the Night (the Dark Hunter Series), since then I have been totally hooked of all her dark hunter series. Now, I have been seduced by the League. I advise to get them all.
Retired USN! I enjoy movies, books, traveling and making quilts.
"Great read"
Love Sherrilyn Kenyon! All In this series have been great!
Sherrilyn Kenyon always pulls off a great read, recommend all of her books and series.
"Loved this book"
If the have read the other League books you will get a real kick out of this one. Time has past and the children of the original books are all grown and getting into trouble of there own and finding love.
"Loved, Loved, Loved!"
I have not read it, but I tend to like audio books better than reading books. However that being said, I loved Fire and Ice, In Other Worlds, and that does not come in audio..I read all three stories from that book in a weekend. I truly enjoy The League Series books!
Born of Ice is much like her other League Series books - to which I have listened to them all. I am looking forward to the new one in May about Darling. I truly hope it comes out in audible format, but if it doesn't I will read it on my Nook as I have already pre-ordered it!
Love them all - Sherrilyn Kenyon has strong and very likeable characters. I have listened to this book 3 times, and I am sure there will be a fourth soon.
"Love these books!"
Each book has it's own action/romance content with connections to each other wonderfully written. Start at the beginning please! The characters hold my heart and the book drags me in.
"Great Book, Sherri never disapoints!"
Yeap. I personally love sherrilyn Kenyon and think she's one of the best writers in her genre. She's managed to figure out a perfect mixture of Wounded Hero's or Heroine's, action, humor and love. I started with her Dark Hunter books, and now i'm listening to the league books too. Really love this author, and i really love her characters.
The only thing i would say about this book was that the naration could have been a bit better. He used this low, husky, almost whispery voice, which made most his female voices sound a little... eh, strange/forced. i wouldnt say he was BAD, but it did distract me, and i found it hard to concentrate on the story sometimes. though, by the end of the book i was far more used to it and didnt find it as distracting.
Again, he's not a BAD reader, just not perfect for this particular book perhaps.
Shoot, hehe, i really love sway, vick and Dev. Also Omari. hehe, you have to love a book where you feel genuine affection for just about all of the characters!!!
probably one of the last scenes, where a certain bad guy gets demolished. I wont say more then that so i dont ruin the book for others.
lol. "When Alix joined the ships crew, she did so with danger in tow. Good thing Captain Devyn Kell never backs down from a fight. If they work together, they may just find out they have more to fight for then they realized."
i dunno, i'm not the best tagline writer hehee.
Only other comment i have is that if you are even remotely a vampire lover, or greek mythology lover, deffinately check out Kenyon's dark hunter serries. And really any thing else the woman might do. she's insanely talented. i appreciate her work so much!
I drive a semi. Love listening to audible books on long hauls.
"Love the League ."
Yes. Very well written.
So many.
Don't remember him. I do remember Kelly Fish. I was not happy with her reading.
"The book is alright"
Overall if you never read the series this book is ok
HOWEVER, I read all the books prior to this one in the series and I agree with some of the other reviewers:
1. the begining of this books is TOO similar to the book of Syn
2. the books are starting to resemble each other
3. the book lacked depth and developmet of charachters
The good part was that this book didn't have those horror stories about a miserable past :) it had a few references to that but no specific painful details :)
"Writing by formula"
This is the fourth book in the League novels that I've listened to. I started with the first, Born of Night and I thought it was a really good book so I started listening to the others. I've come to the conclusion that by this point Ms. Kenyon is writing by formula. Take the same basic scenarios, change settings and names (most of the time), and repeat. Considering how much I liked the first book of the series, I really had higher hopes for this book. Considering that this book is supposed to be the second generation from Born of Fire, the stories start out nearly identical, making it very hard to keep listening to. While I love a good romance, I also expect innovation in the action parts of the story. Here's hoping further books get better.
