"A briskly paced, terrifically suspenseful work that steadily builds towards a tense and terrifying climax." (People)
"Another captivating, horrific thriller in her extremely popular canon." (Booklist)
"Outstanding"
I love murder mysteries and this one was top notch. Everything about this book held my interest and I could hardly stop listening to it. Worth the read.
"Top-Notch Tess"
The who-dunnit tension was nicely maintained throughout. This is truly one of Gerritsen's best, and certainly the best of her Rizzoli series that I have read.
The narrator, Anna Fields was also ideal for this book. Her intonation and pace were always just right for any given scene. I could see the whole book in my mind's eye, thanks to Ms. Fields.
"Great Read"
Another good one for Tess. I enjoyed all the twists and turns of the plot. She holds Rizzoli to character. No matter what is going on in her personal life she still finds time to get a jab in at even the most innocent seeming villian. No one goes unpunished in some way with her and that's satisfying. Some of her points make you want to say "you go girl".
This is a great book and you can't go wrong with it.
"Five stars:"
The humorous passages are hilarious, Dr. Gerritsen's imagination covers even more ground in this novel, and you won't guess the resolution as all the parts come together thoughtfully. I only regret that I did not "read" this novel in order of publication.
"almost wonderful"
Terrific suspense and character development. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars are the prologue and the last chapter, both of which are unnnecessary -- the book would stand much better without them.
For reasons I can't explain, I want to say that this is more of a women't mystery. Take that as you will.
I look forward to reading more of this author, and the narrator is excellent; always an important consideration.
"Good...but not great!"
This was a decent read, but it didn't really excite me. Gerritsen has a good plot with interesting and unique events and relationships, but the characters are not deeply developed and the coincidences necessary to complete the plot line were a little bizarre.
For what it is this book is functional, but it's certainly not great literature.
"Come on Anna!"
She did a great job with all the characters.
Anna's pronunciation of Rizzoli has a "t" in it. It is not Ritzoli!
"still great"
I wish she stayed away from attempts at deep psychology and relationship analyses, but as a thriller it's still among the best. Perhaps not as good as the first one in the series, still enough to keep me hooked.
"Great book I love the series"
This book ranks up with one of my favorate series
The in Death series by J. D. Robb. Because they and both strong female cops. Also the story line never ends.

"Another Great Book in the Series"
The narrator is wonderful and does a good job of lending her voice and expression to match the mood of the story. The ending makes you want to read or listen to the next book in the series right away to find out what Rizolli does regarding her pregnancy situation.
Maura Isles -- she is still somewhat of an unknown with a very deep and multi-faceted personality and background.
When Dr. Isles' exhusband shows up
It had some humor in it as well as excitement and mystery
Well worth the money or credit point
