"Intriguing"
If you loved the "National Treasure" movies you're gonna love this book. Listening in the car allows us to discuss the history and clues and to stop the tape from time to time to try to predict what will happen next. Audiobooks have been great for keeping our commutes free from arguments, increasing our vocabulary as well as our basis for learning literature. My kids loved this book and we are looking forward to the next one coming out in June.
"Entertainment at its best!"
Yes. I'm a retired adult and I have so thoroughly enjoyed this series. I was skeptical at first because they were written by different authors, but it flowed so smoothly that you would not know it. It matters not what age you are, these stories are a wonderful escape and, for young minds (as well as older ones), the lessons are universal and timeless. It may have worked with any narrator, but David Pittu brought it alive. His ability to shift voices from the many characters in the books was mind-boggling. His Nelly was my all-time favorite.
Listening and reviewing just one of the books doesn't do it justice. I would highly recommend the whole series be read from start to finish.
David Pittu makes it all come alive. I have not heard any of his other performances yet, but I plan to. This man is awesome.
Truly, I cannot look at any one book as a stand alone book. You need the whole series.
Great job and thank you to all of the contributors to this series, especially David Pittu for doing a one man show.
"Kids and adults love the audio!"
Digging into the historical "family members."
Percy Jackson books - good charachters and historical references.
Good voices of characters.
Sometimes.
Book is enhanced by starting at Book 1
"just read it"
i cannot comment on every writer individually because the books sort of ran together for me during a week trip. I read them all and cannot pinpoint every writer.
I can say that they were all wonderful and have great stories mixed with history and geography. They can teach in a great fun exciting atmosphere.
