"Why only the third book available?"
I loved reading The Mark of the Lion series, so I purchased this audiobook. But I really don't understand why Book #1 and #2 aren't available for purchase from Audible. I'd like to listen to them in order, so PLEASE, Audible, make the first two books in the series available!
"I was riveted"
This novel is obviously Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) inspired.
"Loved! Great ending to the Trilogy!"
This is one of my favorite books in my favorite series!
Any other book in the Mark of the Lion series.
Definitely Rizpah, he managed to give off the feist and vulnerability she had even though the reader is a man.
Journey to the Land of Tiwoz
You won't be disappointed with this book.
"Good wrap up"
This story was much like the other books in this trilogy. I appreciated the biblical references and spiritual encouragement. The narrator did an outstanding job creating distinct voices and bringing life to the story. I was not disappointed.
"Story or sermon?"
I enjoyed the messiness of charaters' lives. They are Christian but not perfect, and yet they are not demonized either. I didn't like the fact that all the Christians were perceived as "good" and the non-Christians as "bad." While that was not always overt, I was definitely left with that impression.
I enjoyed Caleb's antics; they provided comic relief to an otherwise heavy series and trilogy.
I have read other books from her, and have had both positive and negative experiences with them
He was able to catch the raw emotion of atretes in his pain, his anguish, and his anger.
Yes. The trilogy would not have been complete without it.
With the exception of the 1-hour sermon 2/3 of the way through the book, and the polarizing opposites of Christians and non-Christians, this book was a good read. It directly does point to Christ, but may be too heavy for those simply looking for a good story.
"Great story, great telling"
Even though I started with the 3rd book of the series, Francine Rivers drew me into the story and made me want to get the first two books! You do not need to have read the previous books to understand this story line, but you want to.
I enjoy historical fiction. The story stays true to historical facts and yet shows that human nature is the same whatever era. The characters are vibrant with both strengths and faults. I love the faith aspect. One more than one occasion I found myself asking if I also held to such foolish emotions despite having the benefit of God's word.
"Great Writer, Narrator, and Story!!"
Yes ... only because the audio version is more convenient. I am an avid reader - but this, my first audio book has been very enjoyable.
When Rizbah was healed
Artretes
There were several: Feeling Artretes rage; how Artretes taunted Rizbah about Caleb.
I am hooked ... and have enjoyed every second of the book!
"Well worth the time & credit!!"
This book conveyed a smooth transition from "A Voice in the Wind", and I choose this book because I wanted to re-visit the character Atretes; and the story-line kept me engaged throughout the entire reading. Of course the narration was WONDERFUL, and the narrator remained consistent with my recollection of the previous book (A Voice in the Wind). I'm somewhat disappointed that the author didn't provide a more graphic depiction of Atretes sexual exploits with the servant girl, and especially Rizpah; because it would have furthered 'colored' the possible depths of his barbarism. And the mounting sexual tension between Atretes and Rizpah, could only have been properly relieved with a detailed account of their wedding night and it's consummation; and, I needed confirmation of the emotional bond between Atretes and Rizpah that only DETAILS could provide.
Otherwise.....loved it!
"Amazing!"
Francine Rivers makes you feel as if you are living in the story! Her descriptions and details make all of the books in this series real and alive! When I read the Bible now, I have a greater knowledge and understanding due to River's research.
"Enjoyed this trilogy enormously!"
I bought this solely from the reviews, and was not disappointed. I downloaded all three in the trilogy. Solid writing, great research of the area and times, and was a wonderful listen!
