"Susan Ericksen brings these stories to life"
I had read the whole series over time and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. However when I started listening to audio books I found it difficult to lose myself in the story...until I found Susan Ericksen reading the JD Robb series. She has made each character a special personality. It's almost as if I have never read these books before. I'm enjoying Peabody and MacNabb tremendously. I actually laugh out loud at some of the conversations between them as well as some of Eve's comments. This is a terrific mystery series. There is 'edge of your seat' murder plots mixed with family humor and wonderful guest characters. I eagerly look forward to the next in the series.

"Interesting concept"
Would you consider the audio edition of Ritual In Death to be better than the print version?I'm not sure, I haven't read the print version. I think I would have liked to read the jacket and fly pages so I knew a bit more about what to expect.
What other book might you compare Ritual In Death to and why?This question escapes me, I hadn't read any of this series before, so I had no idea what to expect. It was like going to a whole new country without a travel guide. I think it's time to find the first in the series to understand the premises better.
What about Susan Ericksen???s performance did you like?She was fine, a good reader that understood the text.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?There were some "yuck" moments. That's not an editorial comment, they were supposed to be yucky and they were!

"Great book, one the best in the series"
Where does Ritual In Death rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?This is one of the best in the IN DEATH series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ritual In Death?When Eve actually new how to cook.
What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?As always, when she reads it brings the characters to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?When Eve resolved the Murder of the girl in the morgue.

"Murder breaks up formal gala"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?Yes. It is short, just takes a couple of hours, but has a lot of action within that time. It's a good mystery story, too.
What did you like best about this story?Eve and Roarke are both invested in the outcome of the mystery but on almost opposing sides on how to get results. They argue and get angry with each other but are respectful.
Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?I always like Roarke's Irish brough the best but I though Detective Peabody was good, kind of comic relief.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?It had it's intense moments.

"1/2 Books Not So Good"
I don't appreciate the 1/2 books, the ones 1/2 the usual size - they seem short, abrupt, crammed.

"Staying true to format..."
I love this series, don't get me wrong...
But, like all of these little "half" books interjected into the series, this one is short, and revolves around... shall we say? The supernatural? We've had witches, ghosts, vampires... And now satanists. Peabody gets wigged, Dallas stays cynnical, Roarke flutters somewhere in between, and it all gets wrapped up in a pretty little bow in less than 3 hours.
I didn't give anything away that anyone who has read some 30 of these novels couldn't have guessed at. :) The story is still yours to enjoy!0 of 0 people found this review helpful -
"Fantastic listen"

Who was your favorite character and why?I adore the character of Roarke. The way he loves and deals with Eve is so amazing.
Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?Just this series. So glad she is the narrator of them. Love the voices of all the characters. She does a wonderful performance.
