Publisher's Summary

Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbor Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo's ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.

For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, its love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, hes worried that he might be the violent canine in question.

If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if hes not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated.

All of Molly Harper’s audiobooks, including this one, are narrated by Amanda Roncini. Her voice is perfect for the part. It’s light, slightly scratchy, not particularly accented – faintly tinted with something vaguely Southern. Amanda Roncini does a great snarky voice for a snarky Mo, and she’s able to pull off the punch lines just right.

What sets Molly Harper’s writing apart from the typical urban fantasy/paranormal romance novel is her uniquely comedic voice. If you’re familiar with her Jane Jameson series, this will come as no surprise. If you’re not, don’t drink anything while listening to this audiobook. Consider yourself warned. Naked Werewolf relies mostly on hyperbole and absurd juxtaposition. Mo’s parents aren’t just aging hippies – they own an organic vegan farm. Mo’s mom refused to go to her college graduation because it would be giving into the man. Mo’s mom once walked in on Mo and a guy getting it on, and instead of walking out, she started lecturing the couple on the positives of tantric sex. Mo’s mom isn’t just overbearing, she calls Mo up at 3 a.m. every year on Mo’s birthday to re-tell the story of her water birth in graphic detail. Something Mo’s college roommates really appreciated. If you’re an avid listener in the genre, you’re used to audiobooks that start out with a bang, hook you in the action, keep you guessing, and take all-together a very short amount of time. Not so with Naked Werewolf. If you read the blurb summary from audible or amazon, you’ll know the foreshadowed pivotal event is Mo “find[ing] a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on [her] porch.” That scene comes 3 hours into the 9 hour book (about a 1/3 of the way, for those of you who can’t do fractions). Naked Werewolf spans over a full, entire year. It doesn’t take away from the action because, frankly, there’s not a lot of action.

"One more time!!! Another GREAT book!!"

Molly Harper is a wonderful writer with a sense of humor that is by far the best around!! I learned while listening to her first book, you can't be drinking anything while listening. I made that mistake and spewed soda out of my nose! I have all for books and can't wait for what she will come up with next. Her characters are "real" and full of life. I hope she continues with these characters as well as Jane and crew. I love how she worked Jane's book store into the book. Molly Harper can't write fast enough for me. If you want to laugh and have a great time, read Molly Harper's work!!

    Yes yes and heck yes.

It is funny and entertaining. Ronconi does a perfect job of narrating the different characters!

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Attitude, spice, spunk. The perfect narrator for this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was laughing through the entire book.

    Any additional comments?

Once I listened to Harper's "Nice Girls" series, I immediately bought all of Harper's books from audible and am very glad I did. I have listened to all the books several times now.

    "Couldn't stop listening"

Molly Harper, YOU ROCK!!! I have listened to each of her books numerous times, and LOVE each of them. I was afraid to start another series, because I just knew it could not be as good as the first. WRONG-O!

I LOVED this book! I laughed so hard at the Baby Beluga story, my husband hushed me! He will never understand.

Thank you, Molly, for giving a nod to our friends back in the Hollow, and I hope we have not heard our last out of Jane!

I know there is another book coming out very soon, and my finger is on the BUY button! As with all of Molly's books, I was let down when it was over, because I knew it would be some time before I could get another one. Excellent guilty pleasure book!!!

    "Enough with the sex already."

I bought this one because I am a huge fan of the vampire books. I found myself wondering whether this was suppose to be a quirky modern take on relationships or a bodice ripper (and I hate that term) in disguise. If I had wanted to buy a romance novel I would have. Okay, I get it. Werewolves are hot and sexy, but geez, this volume read like a porn film. I am NOT a prude in any way shape or form, but after the scene in the front seat of the car I found myself annoyed. If she could have toned that down, brought in more of the local characters it would have been a winner. I love LOVE LOVED the characters and wanted to hear more about them, not just grunting and thrusting.

    "Couldn't finish it."

Take the sex scenes out and this book would fit perfectly with the young adult audience. Nothing wrong with YA genre - some great titles in that genre - but in this book, I found the attempt at light hearted humor and raunchy sex too incongruous. Also, no tension between the main characters. As with most novels that bore me, I ended up not caring about the characters. So, I turned it off. Hope this helps...

    "Will Buy More Molly Harper!"

I loved the title of this book when I saw it on the sale list. For that alone, I bought it. It was worth every penny at full price. It is the only Molly Harper book I've ever read/bought...but it certainly isn't the last!

"Cute and funny story with some mystery"

I have to be honest...it was the title that caught my attention. It said to me "this could be a really cute story" and, for once, the title didn't let me down. I loved Molly Harper's dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Made me laugh out loud more than a few times. Even though it was based on fantasy, the story wasn't completely "out there", it was almost believable! I could actually put my feet in Mo's shoes and could imagine how she felt, could imagine being her. The mystery had me going until the end. I was wondering too, who could it be? The only problem I had was with the narration. I didn't mind Amanda Ronconi when she was just reading or speaking the female voices and she did ok with some of the male voices...it was her narration of Cooper's voice I didn't care for. To me, Cooper was a big brawny guy that should have had a deep comanding masculin and sexy voice. What I was hearing made me picture a short little whimpy guy that was maybe 120 lbs dripping wet...but that's just my opinion.
