In the second book, the storyline is focused on her BFF Zeb's wedding and his seriously screwy mom's antics trying to ruin the wedding. Trying to deal with all the difficulties, Jane becomes more independent and comes into her own. I still think she is a wuss when dealing with family, but I know she does REALLY good in the third book. Another fun book from a fun series

I liked the premise of the first book a lot. A small town librarian getting shot accidentally and turning into the vampire and then getting mixed up with murder and mayhem. I think the Jane Jamison books are essentially cozy mystery with a vampire twist. It doesn't have the usual fight against the races, apocalyptic prophecy nor the dark outlook other paranormal series often have.

The series is really really funny, especially the snarky, quarky and snide comments Jane makes. Some might compare the series to the Betsy series, but IMHO there is a BIG difference. I actually like the main character! Sometimes I wish she wasn't so nice, but I suppose in real “family feud” people do have love/hate relationship with loved ones just like her and try desperately hard not to ruin what relationship they have. So if you like paranormal stuff but not really into violence, blood, or doomesday story, this is a great series!

This story focuses maily on Jane's friend Jeb and his wife-to-be Joliene and their impending nuptuals. Jeb's mom, Mama Ginger, is extreamly persistant thru the whole book on trying to break up the happy couple and have Jeb marry off to his life long friend, and our heroine, Jane, but Mama Ginger doesn't know Jane's been turned. The book also continues in the developing relationship between Jane and her sire, Gabrielle. If you liked the 1st book, you'll enjoy this book as well!

I must say that ordering these books by Molly Harper White was a laughable choice. I laughed so hard at the one liners and found the books to be so entertaining. I will keep an eye out for more by this talented author!!!

If you want a hot and steamy romance, this isn't the book for you. However, it's absolutely hilarious! I laughed out loud multiple times while listening to this book. Couldn't wait to start the next one and bought the next two immediately. My only criticism is that some of the character voices that the narrator used were annoying.

The same characters as the excellent first book in the series ("Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs"). However, your reaction may depend on how whether you find Jane's dysfunctional family humorous or hateful. Tending toward the latter reaction, the humor wore thin for me and I got tired of Jane's whining and immaturity. There seemed to be very little character growth. But I am grumpy! If you are a sunnier person you may like this second in the series as much as the first.

Bordering on the absurd, you have to look at this second installation of “Nice girls” in the same sunny, light-humored fashion as the first and following novels. This particular book even more so since it is based solely on ridiculous family and friend meddling to the point of non-realistic altitudes most plotlines can’t reach without the audience finally giving up on the shreds of realism left. Fortunately, this is also a book involving vampires, werewolves, and UK-fan ghosts so the height of believability is significantly higher due to the genre.

This is the sequel most fans hope for in a beloved book. A chance to see known and loved characters from a previous work while staying true to the same feelings earned before. Sure, this means the character doesn’t grow in leaps and bounds as normal characters do, but this is also the brilliance of the book. How many Twilight fans would LOVE to get their hands on a fifth book? And for what… a chance to see something new from loved characters. That’s exactly what this book accomplishes so I adored it for what it was – a chance to see Jane bumble through another eight hours of confusion and snarkiness.

5 stars, easily earned for the good time this listener had

This book had me laughing out loud at the most inappropriate moments. My favorite books in the genre are the Sookie Stackhouse novels. This first Jane Jameson book has characters (including the all important secondary characters) that are as interesting as those books, dialogue even more hysterical and a quick, clever plot line. I don't know if the series will have the depth of detail as the "Sookieverse;" that remains to be seen. But it was a great spend of a credit and kept me from biting the toddler next to me on the long cross-country flight. I am downloading the next two immediately.

Molly Harper's Nice Girls series is quite a fun listen. It's the kind of story you will want to listen to more that once.
Harper gives her charaters a rich and witty dialogue. Making you laugh out loud more than once.
Beware: if you are listening to this book in a public place, people will think you are CrAzY! (It's that good).

I highly recommend buying all three books from this series. You will not be disappointed.

While not what I would generally listen to, this is a very amusing book. I certainly laughed out loud a few times. The narrator is skilled at portraying the different voices and does an admirable job mimicking a Southern accent; (as, unfortunately I would know being from South Carolina).

molly harper has managed to write an engaging series of books. It has a lightly humorous vein (pardon the pun) your average nerdy bright girl who never quite fit into the normal social set. A wickedly handsome hero who isn't all vanilla and spice. throw in a food neurotic werewolf girlfriend and a couple of ghosts, and strained family ties and you have yourself a chuckling good time. enjoy.
