Don't miss the rest of the Aubrey/Maturin series.

"Taken together, the novels are a brilliant achievement. They display staggering erudition on almost all aspects of eighteenth-century life, with impeccable period detail. In addition. O'Brian has a gift for the comic." (Times Literary Supplement)
"Like Aubrey and Maturin playing Mozart duets beneath a Pacific Moon, he works elegant variations on the tradition of the seafaring adventure story." (The New York Times Book Review)
"Pleasantly Suprised"
When I purchased this audio book I was concerned that it would be boring and no where as good as the printed book. I was dead wrong. This audio book has been very enjoyable to listen to at times when reading the book was unavailable. And this audio book also helped me to get a better idea as to the intonation of some of the words and phrases of the King's English!! I plan on getting the rest of the set as well and then can listen to them as I will.
"What an incredible series."
I have always like long books as to able to Immerse myself in to the story and to get to really know the characters. I love the fact that I can listen to these one after another without a break and still my the story fresh. I am looking forward to the remaining 10 1/2 books.
Simon Vance does an excellent job on the characters.
"good story"
great writer and excellent story. A bit hard to understand at times so you must listen intently.
