Staying overnight in a luxury hotel, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde overhears a high-profile murder involving a U.S. senator. Special Agent Jack Pallas is assigned to the investigation - the same Jack Pallas who still blames her for nearly ruining his career three years ago. Now the pair will have to put their rocky past behind them, focus on the case at hand - and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension.

"Good Story, Great Narration"
The narration of this story made it such an easy read. A bad narration can completely ruin a good story, or in this case, a great narration can make you feel like you're hearing this story as if it really happened and the storyteller is eager to tell you all the important details. Karen White did well.
"Fun times with the FBI"
Nothing like a handsome strong fearsome FBI agent and tough sexy US attorney go at each other and tackling a strange mystery that puts them both in danger. This is a fun listen not too intense but just enough action to keep you guessing. Karen White does a good job with the narration. It is a good kick off for this series. Remember this a romance series not an erotic tale. So if you want more of a sexual jaunt this story probably won’t satisfy you. But for light romantic tale with a bit of intrigue this should work. Predictable yes but worth the credit for me yes. If you don’t have a credit get it when it goes on sale
"recommend"
This was my first Julie James book. I enjoyed the story though I did think it started off a little slow. Enjoyed the two main characters and also the supporting characters. Found myself rooting for them and I wouldn't mind meeting a Jack Palace in person! :)
The narration left a bit to be desired. It wasn't bad enough that I couldn't listen to it but almost. It was impossible for me to loose myself in the story telling because of the narrators constant choppy reading. She emphasizes stops. Almost like reading an old time telegram (or at least how they do it on tv). All her characters do the stopping thing. Her voice isn't bad but the stops really took away from the story for me.
I enjoy reading series and very rarely read stand alone series. I mostly read romance and sci-fi & fantasy.
"MUST READ!!!"
Yes I would. This is a fun action book with romance thrown in. You can relate to the characters in the story because they go through some of the same struggles of normal everyday people. When it comes to love in this book Cameron and Jack take it to a whole new league.
When Jack wouldn't leave Cameron after she was shot. Even though it ment letting the shooter get away he wouldn't leave her
Umm the whole book. It was so good that it had me capture from the beginning.
Yes, it is one of those that if you try to put it down you will end up staying up all night to find out what happens to the characters.
"Romance and action"
I love Julie James books. This book has everything. The story line is good and the action .

"Fun & Sexy Novel"
I really enjoyed Something About You. I definitely found it to be a "page turner." The sparks between Cameron & Jack fly off the page. I love that she's a U.S attorney and he's a FBI agent. They make the perfect match. And unlike many of the other books you'll find in the romance genre, this isn't just a story about a guy who saves the girl, but a girl who also saves the guy. Throw in a wedding, a hunky gay best friend, and the constant risk of danger and Julie James delivers a story that, while far from being heavy reading, has just enough complications to not be just another romance novel. Also, I thought Karen White did a good, if not necessarily superb, job as narrator.
Wife to sometimes neglected husband (due to listening to audiobooks) and mother to adult children. I am a relatively recent avid reader/listener, only really starting to read for pleasure a few years ago but now am thoroughly addicted.
"Romance with chemestry!"
I really liked the chemestry between Cameron and Jack, and the secondary characters were extremely entertaining and added quite a bit to the listening experience. Overall I enjoyed this 1st book of the series and look forward to listening to more from this author.
"Sweet and Fluffy - an enjoyable listen"
Is Something About You great fiction? Definitely not. But it is a well-written chick fic featuring an intelligent woman and an interesting mystery - worth a few hours of relaxation and enjoyment. The first 10 minutes of evesdropping on someone else having hotel sex is a bit off-putting, but if you can get beyond that the result is worthwhile.
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
"Something about Julie James’ Books"
Something About You: FBI-US Attorney Series, Book 1 was my first Julie James read, and I found it to be entertaining, and credit worthy.
In fact, I believe it to be credit worthy enough to take advantage of the Semi-Annual Sale and purchase the next 3 books in the series. I am currently on book 2.
The story is full of action and romance with a protective FBI leading man who captures the heart of the Assistant US Attorney, Cameron Lynde.
This is not a 5 Star Book in my opinion, but it is a solid, enjoyable read.

"Good Book - Good Listen"
I had this sitting in my Wish List for a long while. The cover looked "cheesy" to me, but the story and ratings interested me. One day I just downloaded it. It turned out to be a really good story. If you can get passed the first few chapters, the story really takes off from there. I was surprised and very glad I stuck with it.
