Switched: the first book in the Trylle Trilogy.
When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until 11 years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

"Vampire and werewolf lovers beware; this trilogy opener offers readers a new take on an unexpected breed of mystical beings. Readers who can suspend preconceived notions and open themselves up to this new interpretation are in for a midwinter version of a good beach read." (Kirkus Reviews)
"Wendy is a flawed antihero, which helps differentiate her from the throng of paranormal-romance heroines, and the potential for development, both dramatic and romantic, should make readers anxious for the next installment of the Trylle trilogy." (Booklist)

"Light and Fun!"
I never expected this series to be so entertaining and addictive when I first bought Switched. The characters are interesting and the plot twists aren’t as predictable as most in this genre. However, this book is not for everyone. It’s like The Princess Diaries with trolls in it. If you are looking for something lighthearted and fun, this book would be a great choice, but if you’re looking for something darker and more intense, I would suggest The Vampire Academy Series or The Infernal Devices Trilogy.
I love listening to audio books. I started as a way to ease my long commute. Now I listen on my commute, cleaning the house, working in the yard, whenever and wherever I find time to myself.
"Surprised by how much I like"
I was surprised at how much I liked this series. I picked it out just browsing for something to listen to, and listened to the whole series very quickly. Therese Plummer did a great job with the narration.
"flawed, believable heroine - refreshing"
Finally, a book with a heroine, who is not only believable, but whom also possesses flaws that make her all the more likeable. Wendy is not the bravest, or most stunning - it is refreshing to read from her point of view. Highly recommend!
"A Traditional Myth with a Twist! Best Troll Story!"
The very end! Also, her confrontation with her host mother at the insane asyllum.
She definitely has a different voice, much deeper/huskier and it really gives the listener a better idea of the main character's personality and uniqueness as opposed to the traditional overtly feminine and helpless heroines. Her strength and resillence can be heard in Plummer's vocal storytelling.
Definitely!
I was hesistant at first to purchase this book, but I am very happy I did! After listening to it, I immediately bought the other two finishing them over the weekend! Amazing story! I recommend it to all that love fantasy!
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
"Pretty darn good!"
High enough that I immediately downloaded book 2...
The dinner scene where we meet Tove and Aurora. Back-handed compliments, discomfort, a new cutie at the table, got to love it!
Yes.
Not sure I love Wendy yet, but I really do like the story. Hoping Wendy will step it up...
"Switched Review"
Pretty good book! Love Finn
The main character can be a tiny bit annoying
I wish the lady doing the voices didn't do the males... it was a little distracting and weird
but I'm definitely going to listen to the next book =)
Say something about yourself!
"INTERESTING"
I LIKE THAT THIS STORY IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE WHOLE VAMPIRE WEREWOLF THING. CHANGELINGS. BEING SWITCHED AT BIRTH. I LIKE THE NARRATOR ASWELL
I don't have time to sit and read, but I have plenty of time to sit and listen! :)
"Very Nice Story"
If your between series and need to pass the time, this series was a good in between.
At first I didn't know if I was going to like the character since it's starts off as her being a young and demanding child. But the story eventually explains her anger issues.
I found the dialog between characters a bit dragging and felt like they talked in circles instead of getting to the point. I wanted to reach out and strangle them myself.
But in the end I found it to be a very good book as Wendy adventures out to find out who and what she truly is and ensnared by her family lineage into giving up her way of life for her people.
Loved the Narrator.
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
"Different and Very Interested"
I got this book on a sale and I am glad I did. It is very interesting and quite a different take from the usual vampire and werewolves. I enjoyed the trolls and found this book highly interesting. It was a bit dark but in a good way.
I will say I am not a big fan of the narration. I have head Therese in various different books and she always sounds like she is reading religious texts. She can never seem to just shake loose and relax. Go with the flow and really act it out. She is not an awful narrator but she has potential to be a lot more.
Even with that being said, I am looking forward to the next two books in the series because it is a good story.
"Loved it different!"
It was definitely something different to read, I ranked it a must read if your looking for something different to read.
Compared to My Blood Approves 0nly because the main characters are girls and both have some powers.
I have no claims on performance,Therese did great!!
Yes, it only took me a day 1/2 only because I stopped a few times. I had to down load 2 book right away.
A must read, I think you would love it!
