    "WAY BEYOND SILLY---"

I thoroughly enjoyed the earlier Stephanie Plum books but found some of the later ones just okay, if not a bit silly...Well, this new series blows "silly" out of the water. Beyond ridiculous is more like it. A shame really as Diesel's search for the Seven Deadly Sins ancient relics could have been fun. I found the heroine, Lizzie, quite boring and the narrator used an irritating voice for her. I couldn't place the accent and her speech sounded like an older person with loose dentures that kept slipping and making a slight whistle on the S sound. Luckily, her accent came and went.

The featured sin was gluttony but its relation to food was very much overdone to the point of grimacing. The mystery was scant, the unimpressive "bad guy" hardly made an appearance, and the romance was non existing. They'll have to look for the future sins without me.

Good example of Evanovich humor with light romanctic undertones. Good to listen to while working. Fun, fabulous, loved it.

I found the story so-so. But the dropping of the "g" at the end of words became so distracting that I really kept losing any focus. It may have been fine as one reads the book but I found it very irritating in listening to the book. Probably will pass on Lizzie from here on out.

    "Only thought it was new"

Well, basically it is a Stephanie Plum novel with new window dressing. Lizzie=Stef, Clara=Connie, Glo=Lula, Diesel= Ranger. Even the Porshe Cheyenne is the same! Come on Janet, can't you come up with something different? Yes, there were quite a few hilarous moments and man, I wanted some cupcakes the entire time I listened to the book!!

No effort made to develop a plot. Same characters as in the Plum novels, just different names and not a interesting.

Evanovich spun off the character Diesel from the "Plum Series". This follows the same light hearted, tongue in cheek style. The characters are interesting and funny. This was an ideal release for the Halloween season. This book leaves you laughing. Lorelei King is great narrating this book. Evanovich is a master of dialog.

    "Janet Needs New Material"

I was very disappointed that the female character in Wicked Appetite was so much like Stephanie Plum. She had brownish hair that she puts up in a pony tail that Diesel tugs on (which is what he does with Plum). There were one or two times in the book I was sure I had read the line in a Plum book. I expected Diesel to be Diesel and Carl the Monkey to be Carl but I was really hoping for something new and exciting but was very disappointed.

Not my favorite book by far. Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite writers and this book kind of boring and goofy for my taste. Not her ususal. I'd pass on it.
