Finger Lickin' Fifteen

Evanovich included the humor we've come to expect but not the twist of mystery that keeps her readers in suspense. There was very little sexual tension as Morelli was mostly off limits in this book and Ranger held at far enough at bay that there wasn't even a chance of romance- truly disappointing. This book is mostly held together with cliches of the other books - nothing new that moves the series forward.

Disappointing.
When I first started reading the Stephanie Plum books, I laughed out loud and actually felt that they did a good job of being a serious mystery as well as a comedy. I've read every one...but this is my last. Janet seems to just put one out a year, regardless...and they get worse and worse. Nothing new, nothing remotely mysterious, not even good writing and more and more filthy talk.
Sadly, it seems that it is more important to just get a book out there, than to put some serious thought into making it a good one. Goodbye Stephanie Plum....

I love the 'Number' books and have enjoyed all of them. This one, kinda left me, less than enthused. First, it is only a little over 6 hours long. That is one travel day for me. Second, I just didn't think it had the same fun as the other ones I have read.
It is still a fun read but leaves you wishing there were more meat to the story, rather than just pineapple upside down cake.

I am glad to read the comments here. On another site, a group of mature women all raved about this book so I rushed to download it s I have read all from the third installment. I love the dark mysterious Ranger but even he is starting to get on my nerves allowing this woman to pop in and out of his bed at will and play this teenage bimbo game. And what does it say for the tough guy cop and the dog who could use with some serious obedience traning. As for grandma, she needs to grow up! Maybe it is time for both of the men to have a potential love interest other than Steph just to heat things up and force this girl to make grownwoman decisions. I'm sick of hearing about that disgusting thong and what Bob did to it.

Stephanie needs to move on! Her indecision between Ranger and Morelli is old, and the quality of her plots has grown stale since the days of One for the Money. I still enjoy the characters, but I am disappointed in the lack of effort on the part of the author. I would love to see Stephanie make a decision about the men, maybe add some depth to Lula, SOMETHING to breathe some fresh air into this series.

The Stephanie Plum books begon the downward spiral around #8, but I held on with the hope that they would get better. The pain of listening to #15 has left me saying enough is enough. I believe Janet has reduced these books to a-fill-in-the-blank, where she simply changes the names of Stephanie's skips. Character growth in this book included the addition of fart jokes. Wow... Then there is the narration. Lorelei King's range is limited, so everyone beyond the core charaters have roughly the same voice or sound borderline mentally challenged. Don't waste your money/credits on this one.

I enjoyed most of the books in this series. They entertained me and made me laugh. But this one did not make me laugh. The characters are becoming to predictable, and the dialogue is always the same. This book focuses entirely too much on unpleasant bodily functions; and seriously, a little of that goes a long way. It isn't cute anymore.

I love Stephanie Plum Books and I always wait with great impatience for the day of the new release. However, I have felt, especially the last book and now definately this book the story line is just a rerun of the first 13 books. With story lines and words just being reworked enough to make it eligible to be called a new book. My recomendation is to not waste any of your credits but wait for a used paperback. And a quick read at the beach. That way if you can't finish it all the way it won't really matter and you will not have wasted too much money. I stay faithful because I still say "One for the Money" is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. However, it is now time for Stephanie to grow up and the writing to become as fresh and great as tne first book in this story line.

I have read all of the Stephanie Plum books and this was not one of my favorite. It was not as funny as her previous books. But I would not discourage you from reading her other books - Four to Score is one of my favorites.

Not what I had hoped. Characters are 2D, plot is silly, and all of the characters were annoying. Dialog was basic, and for some characters only single words. Unless this author is your favorite, don't make the choice. Sorry
