Publisher's Summary

Goldy Schulz is thrilled to be catering a holiday breakfast feast for the staff of the Aspen Meadow Library. But little does she know that on the menu, alongside the Great Expectations Grapefruit, Chuzzlewit Cheese Pie, and Bleak House Bars, is a large helping of murder.

While setting up at the library, Goldy spots a woman lurking in the stacks who bears a striking resemblance to Sandee Brisbane - the woman who killed Goldy's ex-husband, the Jerk. But Sandee is supposed to be dead. Or so everyone believes.

Goldy's suspicions mount when the body of Drew Wellington, a former district attorney, is found in a corner of the library with a map worth thousands of dollars stashed in his clothing. She's convinced that Sandee is involved.

But the holiday madness is only just beginning for Goldy. Soon she's drawn into the dangerous, double-crossing world of high-end map dealing. And like the ghost of Christmas past, Sandee keeps making an appearance. Could she be out to prove that revenge is sweet?

    "Sweet is a Treat"

Well read as always.A plot with the twists and turns of an accomplished writer. The only thing lacking is the recipes come at the end of the audio version and not as easily followed as in the book versions. Davidson has captured the "upscale" mountain community west of Denver and its snobs, hippies and suburbanites. The characters introduced in the beginning of her books have the half life of a Travis McGee girlfiend but then the mystery is who killed them.

I really like this author's book, and this series is a lot of fun. Not crazy about the narrator though. Her kid voice is grating and made some of the characters' voices were annoying. Read these books, you will like them better that way!

"So so story with a narrator whose voice grates"

This was not one of the best books in the series. I became bored with the story but was determined to finish. I don't really care for Barbara Rosenblat's narration and that really takes away from the story. I'll finish the series but I will read the books instead of listening to the audiobooks.

"I love this series and the narrator"
What made the experience of listening to Sweet Revenge the most enjoyable?

Entertaining and funny. Especially relevant if you know the characters.
Sometimes unbelievable situations but they make you smile. Good for
    your down periods.

What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?

Barbara Rosenblat's narration brings all the characters to life and in their own
    sphere.

    Any additional comments?

Each book that I finish puts you into the mood for the next installment.

    "I really tried...."

I swear to you, I love Goldie... I love that big, great looking, great cooking hubby of hers, I love Arch...but I really didn't love this book! The writing was terrible...I'm not even sure Diane Mott Davidson wrote this book! The story line was choppy, Arch was moody and sullen and Goldie was so ditzy and predictable that I just couldn't tolerate her. Please, I beg you, save your credits and try another one. I only got to chapter 4 or 5 I can't even remember.... or maybe the memory was so painful that I have repressed it.... Shame, shame Diane, next time slow down and write an engrossing book like we know you can!!

    "Just okay"

I've listened to all the books in this series, and found them all entertaining, except this one. It was just a little too unbelievable that a 30 something woman could endure every event that "Goldy" did in this story and not end up in the hospital. Instead, she was out running errands, driving on snow slicked highways, chasing bad girls, catering all her events and of course, solving the crime in the end. More superhero than average woman. And the relationships/friendships she has with the other characters....also a bit unbelievable. There's one story left to listen to, and I'll do it, just to catch up on the series, but if it's like this one, I'll stop right there.

As far as the narration, Barbara Roseblatt to me is Goldy Shultz. I do enjoy the way she reads.

"Great light read - Perfect for the beach!"

Reading a Goldy novel is like visiting old friends. Just enough mystery, just enough family life and, of course, great food.

    "Disappointed"

Had I read the book I would have kept my image of the charaters. I wish I would have. The reader was too old sounding, too tired. The story was okay - not as good as previous books in the series.
