This vampire has been alone for far too long....
As one of the most ancient in the Argeneau clan, Cale Valens has given up on finding a life mate. His friends and family, however, have not. In fact, they believe they've finally found his perfect match. Getting them together, however, requires one little white lie....
Alexandra Willan is in a panic. Her restaurant is due to open in two weeks, but her chef just walked out. Then a highly recommended replacement arrives, an impossibly handsome culinary genius who sends electric tingles racing through her body....
Except he can't cook. In fact, Cale hasn't eaten real food in 2,000 years. Yet he's determined to prove to Alex his prowess in the kitchen - and elsewhere. Because never has he hungered so for any mortal woman. And not just for a taste of her, but for the whole delicious feast!
Love in vein: listen to more tales of the Argeneau Vampires.

"Wowserz!"
Grab your oven mitts before you start listening to this sexy story! Lynsay Sands has once again proven that she can deliver one HOT HOT HOT hit book! This edition of the Argeneau Vampire series is excellent! While I am still in love with Armand Argeneau (Born To Bite), Cale Valens is one vampire after this womans heart too! The kitchen sizzles in this love story set in the kitchen! I do not know where Ms. Sands comes up with all of these excellent stories, but I am so glad that she shares them with us and so glad that they have been brought to audible.com as well! I do wish they would carry more of her stories too! This is another must read for any vampire fan!
"Another great story about the Argeneau's!"
It was such a fun love story that you just can't help but return to again and again.
Cale and Alex are just great!
Kirby did a great job overall with this story and really portrayed Cale well.
Absolutely!
"Love those Argeneau Vampires"
I really love these men and women. I can't wait until Bricker finally meets his match. Any chance it might be a biracial cop from Texas? Good job Ms. Sands. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Love Scifi, Fantasy & Paranormal & have been reading them for as long as I can remember. Due to health issues I now mainly listen to Audio.
"Disappointing . . . Never Realy Clicks . . ."
I never thought i would write a bad review of a Lynsay Sands Argeneau Novel. I downloaded this as soon as I saw it. I wish now I had missed it.
This story never really takes hold of you I even stopped listening to it before it was half way. I came back to it later in the hope It might get better or grab me . . . sadly it did not.
This should have been another hit, Alexandra Willan's story should have been as good as her sisters but you never feel that there is any real connection going on here between her & Cale or at times reality.
Cale pretends to be a chief to get to meet her & badly burns dishes in her high end restaurant but some how they manage to keep that fact from Alex & even feed half cooked badly burnt food to patrons & convince them its mana from heaven , , , meanwhile Alex is having problems with the new restaurant we are to believe that a successful business woman who has already built & run a successful restaurant does not seem to know the basics of dealing with business and trade people. E.g. A professional painter signs for paint he is told not to use until she OK's it. He does so anyway even though its green & the tins are labeled white. The painter leaves saying he will bill Alex. In the real world the professional painter would not only be up for repainting but paying for the used paint he signed for & used in spite of be told other wise. But Alex a successful business woman apparently cant see this.
This of course sets up for Cale Valens to manage the fit-out & leaves Alex to cook . . .
I know this is fiction but so much just rings so hollow like the fact that Cale appears to be the only immortal to date that does not know how to use a microwave ( they use them to heat blood etc) or apparently read (yet he is a successful business man) he burns/destroys one microwave meal after another until Bricker comes.
This just does not have Lynsay's usual flair or style its almost as if it's been written by someone else.
"All of Sands books are good, little predictable"
Just when I think the story is getting a little predictable-something else happens and the story goes a different way...so predictable that you know the 2 are going to for sure end up together, but not because of HOW it happens.
The Narrator does a great job - and great with the accents.
PNR is my prefered genre, but I also enjoy any lighthearted, funny, steamy stories. Listening to books helps me to do mindless housework.
"In the same vein (pun intended)."
I put off listening to this because of some negative reviews, but I'm sorry I did, I like Lynsay Sands, I've enjoyed all the other books in this series, and this was definatly in the same vein. I enjoy her writting style, her humor, the romance, basically everything I've come to enjoy about her stories.
I have mixed feelings about his performance. His charater voices are awesome! but his general narrator's voice was really quite extreamly dry and grating. His Luchen voice is priceless!
Actually no, not really, it actually finalizes the quest to find a lifemate for Sam's sisters mentioned in the previous books (The Rouge Hunter).
I do not just want to read books; i wish i could climb in and live there.
"Cale !!!!!!!!"
Yes - I liked the narrator ......
Cale - he's so Immortal and so perfect. French too!
He does Cale justice and brings this french immortal to life. He also does a great job of all the other characters as well.
No I wanted to savour this and enjoy it.
This is the first of this series that I have listened too hope all the rest are as good... :D
"Loved this one, very sexy French accent"
I have listen to them all now and loved them all, pure fantasy romance with adult love scenes, especially loved the narrarator with the sexy French accent...the only bad thing about finishing them all now I have to find a new series
If you like vampire fantasy novels then you will love this series
"FABULOUS"
Ms. Sands has a wonderful ability to weave a fun and enjoyable story!
no
The opening chapter was hilarious. . . I was laughing out loud as I listened to it while driving with my windows down. Other drivers were looking at me like I was insane!
Ms. Sands has delivered another wonderful installment of her Argeneau series. This one will have you laughing from the get go! I cannot wait until she publishes the next one!
"LOVE THIS SERIES"
I love this series, it doesn't take itself seriously. There is a lot of humor in it. Also, a very nice love story. Viva Atlantis.
