"Out of sequence"
This book is very strange. It is not the latest installment, rather it appears to be an old manuscript that was brushed up and turned into a book. It appears to fit in the middle of the series and unless you know this, the first several chapters are spent in, HUH mode. The characters and dialog are flat. I think it was discarded at some point and then the author went back and tried to make it into a book. The worst of a good series.

"Excellent Mystery"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?Yes, as a matter of fact I did recommend this audiobook to allof my friends! So far so good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?I was very interested in the plot and all of the characters and listened to it as I read it on my KINDLE. Couldn't put it down!

"Finally! Martin & Binnie's Story"
This book is actually book 2 of the Barbara Holloway series (published/released out of order). I love this series and I loved getting to hear Martin & Binnie's story finally being hinted at through every book after book one. I agree with one listener that the narrator's voice doesn't quite capture Barbara's personality as I imagine her to be. The narrator's voice for Barbara is too high and too flighty but I got over it. Barbara just doesn't come off as the super intelligent,intense investigator/attorney she is. Even though this book takes place during the Reagan years, it's so well written I only missed the presence of Frank (Barbara's father) and Shelly. The whole series is well written (even if I didn't like some of the books the first time I went through them). I've come to appreciate and enjoy the whole series.

"Slow story and so-so narration"
The narrator is part of what is wrong with this book. She sounds like she is on slow mode, and Barbara doesn't feel like a slow woman. Changing characters is nto achieved, and so I lost interest several times. This was in spite of the fact that I knew Martin's Cafe and wanted to know his story.
