A Problem of Proportion: The Human Division, Episode 11

Another good episode from John Scalzi's "Human Division", chock full of the wit and humor that makes his series so popular and enjoyable. Although the issues in this volume are ones that have been covered in sci-fi before, Scalzi's delivery is very much his own.

This episode was excellent, the only problem is its length. Its too short, it whets or arouses the appetite and makes you want for more and more. I suspect that the next and last episode will be a few hours in length.

Well read. I am am starting to get used to character voices now.

Having the episode number clearly visible in the title would be very useful

As with most of the short stories in this saga, it is well written and well narrated. A good listen.

So a quick review for this one.. don't wanna spoil things, in this book you get much bigger teamwork, and a bigger understanding of whats going on. and you get a sad story in this one... which is a change, you got an episode where they saved a dog, but this one doesn't have that happy ending.. Thats why i liked it.

A good entry into the series, but a sad one :( All the usual characters with some amusing alien 'grunts' thrown into the mix.

STORY - This episode has an interesting sci-fi element, but the plot line is pretty weak. It is becoming clear that each one of these episodes is, indeed, a standalone story and there is not a common plot line that is going to come to a finale in the end of the series. A couple of the episodes in this series that I have heard so far are very good, a couple are terrible, but most are just okay.

NARRATOR - Dufris does a good job with the different voices, but it was not a difficult narration to perform.

BOTTOM LINE - Listen to Episodes 1 and 7 and skip the rest. (Note that I haven't listened past Episode 11 as of this review).
