Publisher's Summary

Colonial Union diplomat Hart Schmidt is back home for Harvest Day celebrations - to a family whose members wonder whether its youngest son isn’t wasting his life clinging to the lowest rung of the CU’s diplomatic ladder. When his father, a legendarily powerful politician, presents him with a compelling offer, Schmidt has to take stock of his life and career.

"This Must Be the Place" is a tale from John Scalzi's The Human Division, a series of self-contained but interrelated short stories set in the Old Man's War universe.

    "Great Character-Driven Episode"

A great character-driven episode about one of the players on the Clarke, his family relations and his decision to choose his own path in life.

    "Christmas with Schmidt"

Schmidt takes leave to visit his home planet during the holidays. If this was a sitcom this would be the Christmas episode that inevitably comes around once a year, but Scalzi injects it with enough sarcasm and dysfunctional family dynamics to make Rosanne proud. William Dufris does a great job as usual.

    "Top Form SciFI"

I thought by the 10th episode the quality of this excellent and very entertaining fiction would fall off, I was wrong. I'm as thrilled by the 10th as I was by the 1st. The character development is deep, the storyline is gripping. This is as good as I've listened too in a long time.

"Excellent Story about Schmidt & Family"
Would you listen to This Must Be the Place again? Why?

Sure. I have listened to all Scalzi's stories more than once.

What was one of the most memorable moments of This Must Be the Place?

    The Toast!

Have you listened to any of William Dufris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Excellent performance as expected. Well spoken and nicely animated.

    "It' Hart's book"

This one is about Hart, you get to know him and his life more.

Nothing regarding the union or so, it is mainly about Hart. This one is not too bad, give it a listen and you will know why not writing much here.

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!

    "Yawn!"

No story, nothing but character exploration of the Schmidt family. Don't waste your money or your time. Even if you're listening to the whole Human Division series, do yourself a favor and skip this one.

    "WELL?"

This isn't a bad story. It's just not unnecessary . He comes home for Harvest Day, has dinner with his family. And tells what happened in some of the first books! If you listened to the other books in this saga you'll ask Why? This is a unnecessary as a book. But worth the $0.69 I paid for it.
