    "Good fun and fast listening"

This was one of the books I bought through audible sale. And as recommended it was a very entertaining read. I really don't need "hot steamy" sex in my urban fantasy books, which seems to be almost mandatory these days. Even though this book does have sexy scenes, it's not overwhelming nor excessive which was a big plus for me. Also the story was straight forward, easy to understand and the main character likable.

Unlike the other urban fantasy novels I read, Joanne is not an ass kicking "the best" weather warden ever. She needs help and gets it from a very attractive djinn named David. One thing I can say is that their romance is bit too hastely made. I mean I can see the attraction, appreciation, guilt and all that emotion jumbled together, but from that chaotic feeling to "true love" in several days? That was too convenient and quick.

The ending was something I didn't expect and I would like to read more in this series. I found it is actually a series with a nice ending (book 9) so now I have to go hunt more.

I recommend this series for anyone who likes a fun easy urban fantasy with a bit of romance!

    "This is a great series!"

This was a really fun "read". The characters are great, the story has an ending. (I hate it when a author writes a partial book, it always feels like rip off).

I knew when I was only half way through the book, that I wanted to follow this series. The narrator is great. Dina Pearlman is a real talent.

I would recommend the "Weather Warden" to anyone that enjoys books like "One foot in the Grave" by Jeaniene Frost, and or "City of Ghosts" by Stacia Kane.

    "An entertaining listen . . ."

The story's fast-paced and entertaining. The narrator is superb, and that's a help, too. This author takes a fresh approach to material that's been touched on before. Her heroine is flawed, but that's what makes her interesting. Nice descriptions, good writing, and an interesting cast of characters.

I like Jack Reacher style characters regardless of setting. Put them in outer space, in modern America, in a military setting, on an alien planet... no worries. Book has non moralistic vigilante-justice? Sign me up! (oh, I read urban fantasy, soft and hard sci-fi, trashy vampire and zombie novels too)

"Weather that could charge by the hour..."

You know that phenomenon called Gun Porn? Where we get detailed, descriptive and practically sexually active descriptions of weaponry - the guns don't quite need to wear condoms, but it can be close? Well, this book swaps out the guns for weather systems, but the pornographic imagery remains.

Perhaps the word 'pornography' carries too much bias... how 'bout we call it weather that'll make you blush. But anyway, that's what this book contains. Lots of it! And I have to admit, I never thought weather could be so HOT this far north... hahahahaha...

There isn't any graphic human sex, and I don't think there was much in the line of foul language or gore... but what the book does have - other than weather, of course - is a lot of action and suspense and character development. I really like the very original concept behind the Wardens and the Djinn and how Caine managed to make us like/care about the characters, the weather, heck, even an old car or two. I even liked the (somewhat odd) ending: it managed to wrap up this story, but leave the reader with a hook for the next book.

The narration is... pretty good... though I found it to be a bit "breathless" sometimes. Certainly good enough that it didn't stop me from buying the rest in the series from Audible.

    "A great series"

Just go ahead and down load the complete series because it is that good. The books end in a cliff hanger but you will enjoy it and race to complete the series. I did not know that weather could be so interesting.

    "Interesting and fun"

This is an original take on the urban fantasy genre with Weather Gins. It has a strong start for a series and piqued my interest. The narration is wonderful and I plan on listening to the rest of the series.

    "LOVED IT!"
What did you love best about Ill Wind?

Fast moving and very well read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Joann as she's a sassy girl with grit. Second I like David... he came in under the radar and turned out to be a knight in shining armor.

Which character – as performed by Dina Pearlman – was your favorite?

Raquel, the gin always dressed in neon.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Joann laid eyes on the car that would replace Delilah, her mustang.

    Any additional comments?

I prefer to read sequels as I am always wanting more. Ill Wind left me excited to listen to the rest of the books (and there's many - woo who!).

"Weather Wardens Ill Wind is a fair breeze."

Very exciting story well written and well read. I was enthralled by this story. I enjoyed the narration of Dina Pearlman. She does justice to Rachel's writing. All my thanks to both of them.

    "Good Premise, fun read"

I really enjoyed the characters and storyline in this book and I have to confess I was a bit surprised when it came out who Joanne's protagonist was. The reader did make it fun to listen to also.
