"Another excellent family freindly tale"
My 5 year old daughter is almost obsessed with this series. In this tale, we discover who has Henry and Veronica, more is revealed about the scarlet hand, and oh...I won't spoil it for you. These tales are excellently written and wonderfully performed by Mr. Ganser. There are a great little listen for those longer trips with you kids in the car. I highly recommend them.
"Book Three"
This is book three of the series. Start with The Fairy-Tale Detectives. These are very funny stories and have many moral notes to teach kids and adults. Such as every action (magic) has a cost. We have enjoyed listening as a family. I've now got to get book 4 ready!
"Love it, love it, love it"
Yes, so far all 3 books I have listen trice.
Elvis, Puck and uncle Jake is my new fav!
When Puck got hurt
I love the series; the characters are enchanting and can't get enough of them.I just want the parents to wake up from the slumber and move to new adventures.
I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.
"Love it, major cliff hanger series."
I really enjoyed these books but the books end as real cliff hangers and it can be really tough to know you need 9 credits to go through this series.

"I know they're for kids, but...."
I know they are for kids, but I am having a blast listening to these books. They are great for an afternoon of going back in time, when you used to believe in fairy tales.

"SUPER AWSOME ADVENTURES"
Yes of course because it's so exciting and creepy!!
I would compare once upon a crime the fourth book in the sisters grim series the problem child because it was just as exciting!!!
I how he makes it sound exciting and makes me want to to keep listening to the problem child.............................................................................................................................
yes,It was because I love mystery like adventures that are fun and a little bit scary!
AN AWSOME GREAT BOOK YOU SHOULD READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Another Fun One"
Buckley writes fun books but Ganser definitely makes them better with his narration.
This is my 3rd Buckley book in this series. He writes imaginative stories, but I find his character development lacking.
This is the only series of books I have read with Ganser performing. His voices are well developed and entertaining which added a lot to these books for me.
I am very glad I listened to these instead of sight reading them.
"more for adolescents than children"
I've known parents who scolded their children for saying "butt-head," so you can imagine how multiple occasions of "Doody Face" written in indelible ink on the face of one character by another and referred to liberally in the narration might not be such a good example for children. Because of that and multiple other examples, I doubt that these books will become "classics." There are multiple occasions of potty humor and hideous images much more "suitable" for adolescents ... or even adults.
