Publisher's Summary

Investigating a noise in the attic of her historic home, Maggie Holliday encounters a handsome man in a Civil War uniform. He calls her "Isabel", seduces her in ways the shy academic had never dreamed of, then literally vanishes.

With every fleeting visit, Maggie's mysterious lover, Ethan, takes her closer to the edge of ecstasy and madness. Is he really a ghost? Far from chilling her, his touch is incendiary; it all feels so real and so very, very good. And so very familiar.

Ethan insists Maggie's the reincarnation of his long-lost love. And after a few incredible nights in his arms, Maggie is inclined to believe him. But does she dare surrender to a passion that transcends time, tragedy, and even death?

    "Entertaining love story through time."

This was a sexy and enjoyable love story across time, albeit some parts were absolutely unbelievable and hard to swallow. I'm not talking about loving a ghost, I did not have a problem with that. What I found hard to accept was Maggie's abusive boyfriend and how long she put up with him. I also found her reaction to a stranger in the attic on a stormy night incredulous. Any sane woman would be screaming/running/fighting him off rather than kissing him. Hope Tarr has another audiobook called "Bound To Please" that I recommend first. Nevertheless, The Haunting was a good listen with some steamy love scenes.

    "surprisingly good"

I was surprised to have enjoyed this book so much. The plot seemed so unbelievable, but I found myself actually thinking this could be PLAUSIBLE. It was both romantic and sometimes erotic. I was not disappointed.

    "Predictable, but cute..."

The haunting is a sweet, somewhat predictable novel. If you are in the mood for a few hours of simple entertainment, then by all means, this is it...
If, however, you are expecting something...you may be disappointed.

    "Loved every word!"

This story combined a love story, ghost story & a wonderful old house. It's not a scary story if your looking for that. The narrator was awesome & passionate and made the story come to life for me.

    "Loved the story"

I really enjoyed this story. I know it is called "blaze" for a reason, but the sex and crass sex words just seemed thrown in. But they were very few. It was romantic and a nice story.

    "Entertaining, intriguing, and sexy!"
Would you listen to The Haunting again? Why?

I found the overall production of the story to be well done and narrated. The performance of the narrator captured and maintained my attention. Her portrayal of all three major characters (two of which were male) was well done. The story was sexy; taking the reader from one orgasmic moment to another with slight moments to recharge. The intrigue, sadness, and fear surrounding the three main characters and the journey they must take, caused me to close my eyes hard, shed a tear, reach moments of delight and fear for Isabel's life. The story takes the reader into deep passion and strong, persistent desires that for too long have gone unrealized. There are moments that drive the reader to introspective thoughts. My recommendation is it is worth taken the journey with Isabel, Ethan and Richard.

Which character – as performed by Gabra Zackman – was your favorite?

Isabel/Maggie - She expressed her emotion so well that I wanted to take the journey with Maggie to the intriguing and sexy end.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. Hap the beheaded soldier was funny. Richard caused fear and Ethan/Isabel were a delight.

    Any additional comments?

The transitional music set the mood and tone of the story; which drove the reader deeper and deeper into
