A slasher movie turns real when two young actors are brutally murdered on a remote island film set. Their severed heads and arms are posed in macabre homage to a 19th-century pirate massacre.
Two years later, Vanessa Loren is drawn back to South Bimini by a documentary being made about the storied region. Filmmaker Sean O’Hara aches to see how the unsolved crime haunts her…and Sean knows more than a little about ghosts.
Lured by visions of a spectral figurehead, Vanessa discovers authentic pirate treasures that only deepen the mystery. Are the murders the work of modern-day marauders, the Bermuda Triangle, or a deadly paranormal echo of the island’s violent history? As Vanessa and Sean grow closer, the killer prepares to resume the slaughter…unless the dead can intervene.

"You've Got to Read This Book!"
The story was so much fun, and the narrator so good, that I just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
The author touched on many things I find fascinating. Treasure hunting, modern day murders at sea, Hollywood on location in Key West. It seems inprobable that these items could go together, but they do...and very well too. I love the fact that we learn more about our resident ghost and the fact that he is now haunting another member of the group! I also enjoy the character development and getting to see more of life in Key West.
I've said it before, but the fact that I forget I'm listening to a story is the best compliment I can give her. I enjoy how well she maintains the voices from book-to-book. I cannot think of any jarring errors where I am startled into thinking...oh that is wrong...oh yes, I'm listening to someone read this story. The work is seemless, so both the editors and the narrator get a big thumbs-up from me!
When we find out how our resident ghostie died it is very touching...but you do not need to worry about crying...just a touching moment and an otherwise enjoyable story.
I didn't check out the other reviewer comments for this book. I hope that you like this as much as I did!
