Despite the shining example of Allie and Noah's marriage, Wilson is himself a man unable to easily express his emotions. A successful estate attorney, he has provided well for his family, but now, with his daughter's upcoming wedding, he is forced to face the fact that he and Jane have grown apart and he wonders if she even loves him anymore. Wilson is sure of one thing - his love for his wife has only deepened and intensified over the years. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' magnificent fifty-year love affair as his guide, Wilson struggles to find his way back into the heart of the woman he adores.

"The wistful, reflective tone of Sparks' newest love story shines through in Wopat's competent telling." (Publishers Weekly)
"One of Sparks best. . ."
I really enjoyed this book. I have enjoyed all of Sparks books but thought this one was one of his best. As another reviewer mentioned it was clean through and through, a nice change from alot of junk out there. I especially liked it because instead of finding new mates and ending a marriage, the characters work to make their marriage work. I thought it was inspiring and romantic.
"The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks"
A very touching and moving story typical of Nicholas Sparks. Once you start you can't stop and the tears flow with the moving account of what love is all about. A great story! Don't miss it!
"The Wedding (Unabridged)"
What a wonderful book, it made me laugh & cry. I love his writing. He makes me feel like I am right there seeing what everyone he could see while writing, the live oak trees with the Spanish moss on them. It is sad to think that a marriage can get to this state, but it is nice to see that something can be done about it if someone really cares. Everyone who is married should read this book. Maybe it would put a spark back in all of our marriages after reading it.
"This was Great!"
I'm not usually a Nicholas Sparks fan...his books are usually too sad. But, I LOVED this book. I enjoyed the male perspective, as this book is written as if the husband were talking...I enjoyed how this man tries to rebuild his marriage and the steps he was willing to take to get his wife to fall in love with him again. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending, and hope you will be too. If you've read Nicholas Sparks in the past and decided never again, try this one out, it's a great listen! I also really liked the narrator's voice, he pulls you into the story.
"Ladies over 40 Romance Novel."
This is a cute story for women who like romance novels, but are over 40. Now the draw is...will the husband that I married suddenly do a 180 and be Prince Charming now that the kids have left the roost? Well this is such a fantasy story.
My husband and I started listening to this cause our 30th wedding anniversary is coming up. (He taught ME to be romantic.) We both got to thinking this was just too sappy. I finished listening to it, but was guessing the classic all-is-well outcome pretty early on.
The nice thing about this book is that everyone is moral, a very nice diversion from the crap that is out their today.
All in all if you are doing something else, this could be a nice sideline thing to listen to, but doesn't need your whole focus.
"This was one of my favorites!"
yes
The Notebook, of course!
The scene when she realizes that the wedding is not for her daughter but, for her. I can visualize this so well. Her looking up the staircase and watching her daughters descend, noting that the one was not in her wedding gown. Turning and looking into Wilson's eyes for reassurance....oh I love it, love it, love it.
yes, both
The narrator was exceptional. He really kept me focused, his voice would lull me to sleep ( in a good way ). I don't think I could ever get tired of Nicolas Sparks.
"Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful..."
After 20 years of marriage and all the natural stresses that come with it. This book was a pleasant yet accurate reminder of the beauty two people can share. I recommend it to the married and single alike. It is gripping, exciting, tender, and honest. Once you begin you will not put it down, so why not start today!
Noah was my favorite character because his gentle and quiet nature was really strong and loud with wisdom, passion, and love.
Loved it, his voice and inflections seem to accurately display each characters intentions with distracting for the overall theme. Could listen to him again and again all day long.
yes!!!
Please read today.
Listen on people!
"Sparks by Sparks"
I really liked this story. Heartwarming. I have to agree with another reviewer that this suits one that is older. A great story for a 50-something gal like me! Enjoy the surprise ending Ladies, but don't missed anything inbetween!
"Just Okay"
Maybe from Nicholas Sparks, but his endings are so dramatic. I loved this one all the way up until the end, and then it felt like the book was trying to outdo itself and my immediate response was, "is this really happening?" Disappointed in that.I liked Tom Wopat. I did not, however, like that he voiced the female characters as well. It was overdone and too weird to take seriously.
Just let the ending happen without the big drama of it being about the main couple instead of the daughter. It was just too grandiose.
Deep, soothing, relaxing
Remember this story when it comes to my own marriage. Things cannot be taken for granted and life goes by too quickly to get into routines and not make an effort. Every day and every action should be considered to make the most of a life you choose to create with someone.
