Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Tracy Anne Warren comes the second novel in an enchanting new trilogy about three princesses brought together by friendship and fate on their way to finding true love. This is Princess Mercedes's story....

While journeying home from Scotland, Princess Mercedes of Alden’s coach is set upon and her personal guard killed. Barely escaping with her life, she seeks help at a nearby inn. But with no money and looking little better than a beggar, the townsfolk think her claims of being a princess to be nothing more than a far-fetched tale. Utterly forsaken, Mercedes wonders what is to become of her.

After years of soldiering, dispossessed Laird Daniel MacKinnon is finally coming home. At an inn he is confronted by a bedraggled young woman claiming to be of royal blood. Daniel doesn’t believe her wild tale, but when she asks for his protection, he agrees to serve as her bodyguard - in turn she promises to reward him handsomely once they reach London. But Mercedes is still being pursued by ruthless hunters whose motives remain unclear.

As the danger increases, so does the desire she and Daniel feel for each other, until the two of them must face the greatest danger of all - falling in love.

"SAT/NAV NOT NEEDED ON THIS ROMANTIC ROADTRIP ROMP"

Firstly, Ooops I listened to this book before book 1 but I guess it didn't matter much and shows it could easily be a stand alone listen.

Princess Mercedes gets carriage-jacked and flees to a local Inn where she is rescued by Highland Hunk Daniel and, although he doesn't believe her claims, agrees to escort her to London. A sweet and touching romance grows between them and, as they journey on, several disasters befall them which only goes to strengthen their bonds - that is until they reach London.

Good likeable characters (especially kind and protective Daniel), tender feelings ignite as the romance builds but it's threatened not only by the villains who are hot on their trail....... but by themselves as well.

Worth a credit? Yes, and I'm off to listen to book one.

I loved it. Started a little slow but it was perfectly put together Tracey Ann did a great job and Justine is and has always been one of my favorite narrators. Totally worth any credit or cost I gave it 5 stars. I wanted more for the end but still 2 thumps up. Feisty princess Mercedes and sexy Daniel I don't like telling the story but they went through a lot of ups and downs more ups.

    "Wonderful Story"

Justine Eyre is a very good narrator. She made the princess AND the highlander very likeable. Add a nice story line and you have a very good book. I actually got a little weepy.

    "Good story not great."
What aspect of Justine Eyre’s performance would you have changed?

The only voice that was just not quite right was for Daniel MacKinnon. Her Scottish accent and brogue was not good. It was just too unnatural but every other voice was perfectly fine! I normally really like her!

Was Her Highness and the Highlander worth the listening time?

Yes, a little slow at first.
