Rising sous-chef Kelly Matlock's sudden collapse at work is a wake-up call. Disillusioned and burned out, she's retreated to her sister Jillian's house in Virgin River to rest and reevaluate. Puttering in Jill's garden and cooking with her heirloom vegetables is wonderful, but Virgin River is a far cry from San Francisco. Kelly's starting to feel a little too unmotivated… until she meets Lief Holbrook. The handsome widower looks more like a lumberjack than a sophisticated screenwriter - a combination Kelly finds irresistible. But less appealing is Lief's rebellious stepdaughter, Courtney. She's the reason they moved from L.A., but Courtney's finding plenty of trouble even in Virgin River. Kelly's never fallen for a guy with such serious baggage, but some things are worth fighting for. Besides, a bratty teenager can't be any worse than a histrionic chef… right?

“A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where an individual's mind can get both provocation and privacy.”
"AN ENTIRE SERIES THAT NEVER DISAPOINTS"
Point of fact, I am a Robyn Carr fan. I love her work. I am a Virgin River fan and I???ve greatly enjoyed learning all about this town and its extraordinarilly interesting inhabitants.
Being a series lover, I especially enjoy finding one that is populated with vivid characters and a setting that is appealing. Then I just sit back and enjoy each visit. I can highly recommend these books to readers who like an ongoing series that takes the time to allow you to get to know the characters, for they appear again and again, giving us an opportunity to know what their life is now after the happy ending. These are romances, but with a little oomph, drama, and suspense to them. Beauitfully written, expertly crafted each and every book is a keeper adding to the richness of the entire series and then you have the narration of Therese Plummer - simply an unbeatable combination.

"Ready for a new series"
Robyn Carr is a great writer and Therese Plummber is an excellent narrator and this is a good listen. It is probably me but I'm hoping that Robyn's next book is a little different. I think Virgin River has just run characters and feel the last two books were repeats/nothing new. Basically just the same story different characters with the same ending.
"Another enjoyable Virgin River story"
This series although is simple, it is enjoyable and moves along nicely. Only problem was it kept making me hungry! haha
"Please, Robyn, stop talking about food!"
I truly enjoy Robyn Carr novels. But, if she doesn't stop going into lengthy and graphic detail about vegetables, herbs, and food in general, I'm going to have to take a break. These two novels involving the Matlock sisters spent more time and detail on food than I ever hope to see again! Seriously, please focus more on plot line and character development than cuisine! Other than that, it was another solid addition to the Virgin River series.
"excellent"
My first book from this series and most probably not the last one. As a stand alone novel it has everything that is necessary for an entertaining romantic story from beginning to the very end. Well done.
The narration is excellent - if possible, I'd give 6 stars! One of the best.
Audible addicted love mystery, lately stuck on love story. Mother of 1 Labrador and 1 perfect man. Work way too hard, and so ready to be retired
"Another happy ending"
That little girl...omg got on my last nerve, but I loved the story wait you will see you feel like choking her but at the end you will be crying, with her.
I did not ff any of the book that tells you it's worth the credit and what's awesome now there all on sale get them all now like I just did
"A little slow."
Moved a little slow for me. It was a pleasant story but I just drifted away from time to time.
Believer in what you can't see
"Where dreams come true even when its hopeless"
Love, compassion and food.
There isn't another book that compares to Harvest Moon, The stories is about misunderstanding and dealing with people who injure others and still coming out with a loving relationship.
Kelly Matlock's is my favorite character in this story. She finds what she wants to do in life and takes care of her heart.
I would love to be able to listen to this story in one sitting, but there is so much going on that if it was less, it would ruin the story.
I would love to know what is happeining to these characters.
"I am addicted to this series!"
Absolutely I love the Virgin River characters. Robyn Carr has a way of making u feel like you are a member of the town.
Lief Holbrook what an all American man. He's sexy, smart, and an amazing father !
"Cute story, but not that imaginative."
Don't think I would try another book by Robyn Carr. This one was unimaginative and rather vanilla.
I liked Ms Plummer's performance. She made me forget myself and crawl into the story.
No definately not.
