"The gang is back together"
Rose and Demetri will never catch a break! Strigoi Demetri is pursuing newly graduated Guardian Rose and it does get exciting. The last book left you excited to see what happens next and this one leave you saying,"Wait! what? That is the middle of a chapter not an ending!" I really hope they land on a recurring narrator for the next one. This narrator was so distracting that it took away from two of my favorite characters [Demetri and Adrian] Her male voices were terrible and distracting. I loved the story, but my advice would be to preview before downloading. The narrator nearly ruined it for me.
My kids think it's funny when they hide my sanity...
"Very Good Want More"
As usual Richelle Mead does not disappoint. It was a smooth transition from the last book and she left me wanting more and more... Ah how long before the next book!!!
"Could have been so much better. . ."
I couldn't wait for this one to come out, and devoured it right away. I was disappointed in the voices for Dimitri and Adrian. Adrian sounds like a simpering idiot with a bad English accent, and Dimitri sounds. . . not sexy. The story was kind of dragging along for the first half and then, just when it started getting interesting. . . You have a bomb dropped and its the end and nothing to do but wait for the next one to come out. I was a little disappointed, this seemed kind of a waste of time. "Spirit Bound" is definitely lacking something, but it did build on the story, and I am still hooked and can't wait for the next one to come out. I agree with other reviews regarding the voices for some characters. . . they just didn't seem to fit.
"Exactly What You'd Expect"
Another solid installment in a light, fun, good series that is well-narrated. I like books like this that are easier to digest while gasping for air on the treadmill or fighting crazy New Jersey drivers in traffic. This series is very solid and improves from beginning to end. I'd essentially give it 3.5 stars for story and overall, but bumped it to an average of 4 because it is one of the better installments in the series and the narration is so solid.
"Another great read!"
Cant wait for the next book in the series, Hopefully it won't take forever. This is another great read in this series!!
"Best VA book yet!"
I loved this book. Blood Promise bored me a bit but Spirit Bound more then made up for it. Full of surprises, twists, a love triangle & even a couple of cliffhangers. Rose Hathaway is a kick-butt narrator and Adrian Iashkov can make a girl swoon. You're left wanting the next (and last) book. The narrator was good, not as good as Khristine Hvam but good.
"Amazing Book. Please bring back Khristine Hvam!"
This story is great. This series gets better with each book. After the first book, this really ceased to be a YA series to me. I would recommend this to any Urban Fantasy lover. It is one of the better series. Those who don’t like the teen (or chick lit) genre will perhaps trudge through the first 1-2 books (though I certainly loved them) but by Book 3 this book becomes great Urban Fantasy. Though I loath to compare this series to Twilight or Harry Potter, since they couldn’t be more different, I think is much the same in this one regard – it is more YA for the first 1-3 books, and broader appeal in later, when the characters become central combatants of more world shattering dangers.
I really really wish they would bring the old narrator back. She was Rose. It’s very disjointing to have this new voice, whose personality is cooler, and whose face and figure - everything - just looks totally different to me.
Emily Shaffer is talented; my grudge is only that I want them to bring back one of my favorite narrators of all time, Khristine Hvam, who totally nailed the flippant and fiery tone of the main character. Indeed, the humor isn’t really there anymore – its written, it just doesn’t really come across as all that funny.
Maybe Emily can read for the Storm Born series? I hate that narrator - she sounds like a 50 year-old chain smoker who wears coke bottle glasses and has frizzy hair, not a young, hot athletic bad-$$ with red hair and catlike violet eyes. That choice of narrators I just don't get. But I digress.
I have to say it could be worse. They could have changed to a bad narrator, like Cassandra Norris, who seems to inherit all successful YA urban fantasy audio book franchises, and make them totally unbearable.
"Loved it"
Yes becuase Emily is such a great reader.
She does accents very well, if that makes sense. Not that many readers can bring out a character like she can.
Toward the end I was very moved to want to read the next book at once.
"Dimitri or Adrian? Rose n I are simply confused!!!"
Rose.... Oh Rose! I never related to a character so much. I've been taking my time with this book... With this series. It just can't end. Ahhhhhhhhh!!! What can I say? I just don't want it to end. Yeah, yeah this was a slower book than the normal action packed madness of the other books, but that change was nice. I got to fall in love with Adrian a little more n I think his a great guy and a sweet boyfriend. In this book he puts up with a lot of Rose's crap and its kinda sad when she just brushes him off, when he does everything right, but u know as girls n sometimes wanting what we can't have. Dimitri is precisely that person. The more he tells her no.... The more she wants him. That almost makes me feel like Rose is a real person. Yes Adrian, in my opinion, would be a better boyfriend but u can't decide who u love. Her heart belongs to Dimitri, and this book made me c that, before Spirit Bound I was still on the fence just like Rose.
Another thing I enjoyed was Lisa and Christian. I dont really care for Lisa. she is kinda blend to me, specially compared to Rose, her n Christian together, or should I say apart?....... Their romance..., together or not, the way they tried not to care for one another but couldn't, their i hate u but I still secretly love u ways, it all felt real. I also love Christian, to me, his sort of the male version of Rose. And it's easy to see y Lisa fell for him, with Rose being more than her BFF.
Like everybody says..... "This series only gets better and better!"

I love to read and now love to listen. This is the best app I have found.
"Disappointed"
No.
This book seems Richelle Mead rushed writing it and seemed to drag on.
No.....This was a book I lisened to just to get to the end and on to the next. I am a fan of this author but I liked this one the least so far.
