    Engaging, realistic, historic


    What was one of the most memorable moments of The Friendship?

    The image of Tom Bee pulling himself down the road with his gunshot wound.


    What about Allyson Johnson’s performance did you like?

    Her linguistic variations made it easier for the students to grasp the story.


    Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Yes. When John Wallace stood in the store doorway with the shotgun.

    "love her stories"

    Mildred Taylor's stories are simply told, but do not spare either the young or old the complexities or deep sorrow of this time period in the segregated south. Her plots are never trite or even predictable. The narrator does a terrific job.
