Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she's thinking - and he's the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn't know who he really is - or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

"Good, odd ending...."
This was a good book until about the last 4 or 5 chapters. It was interesting, and had a mild romance, and about the time I thought things would get REALLY interesting, it just took a downturn. I am still a little interested in 'what comes next' for Ever & her adventures to come.....just not sure I liked the 1st book to go for the 2nd. The ending was a little weird, and while I like the unexpected - it fell a little short of my expectations.
Reading is a discount ticket to everywhere
"Not Bad"
This novel was mildly interesting. A little too much like Twilight, but I found the main character's backstory adequate. The narrator was very good. Not a great cross over for adults, but not a bad listen. The rest of the series is pure repetition.
Say something about yourself!
"GOOD"
THIS IS AN OK BOOK. IM NOW TOO SURE HOW THE SERIES WILLTURN OUT, OR IF I'LL MAKE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE SERIES, BUT I THINK IT WAS DEFFINITLY WORTH THE CREDIT.I WILL DEFINITLY GIVE THE SECOND BOOK A CHANCE.
THIS BOOK IS EASY TO LISTEN TO AND THE STORY IS DECENT. IM NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THE NARRATOR.
"Addictive"
Good story line, good reader.
Character development was very well done.
Her voice was young but not annoying.
Yes
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
"It was just OK."
Maybe. I didn't feel the need to hurry and download the second book, so that means something. I really liked Katie Schorr, though.
See that's the thing. It's not that I had issues with it, but I just didn't love it. It was just ok.
Yes, strong performance as well. Realistic voices without terrible accents. Good inflections and intentions.
I did really enjoy the relationship between Ever and her sister Riley.
"I expected more"
Of the three books in this series I have listened to, this one by far was the easiest to stand. This is my favorite genre, but the characters are just so frustrating and the author doesn't give you much. I felt in the dark for most of this book and even once I was enlightened a bit, it didn't feel like enough. The next couple of books in the series only go downhill. While more information is provided, Ever gets to be really annoying. She is too nieve and so stubborn to the point that I have actually had to stop listening. I never end a series short, but I just cannot finish the last three books of this one.
"It was just okay"
I'm sure it would be a more enjoyable read for younger teens, but I didn't find myself being drawn into the book. I only finished it because I wanted my money's worth.
Retired USN! I enjoy movies, books, traveling and making quilts.
