In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers escape from the Nazi's, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her whole family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil. Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God's chosen people.
For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God's love in not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continue to declare that God's love will overcome, heal and restore.

Love, love, love, the written word. Nearly every genre is captivating and enjoyable to me. From the Bible to Alas Babylon, beginning to end!
"Amazing Courage"
Story was lovingly read with the voice of (what sounded like) an elder woman who gave the impression that she understood the hardships faced by Corrie. I mention this because the book places Corrie in her 50's and so it feels as though you were actually hearing the words from Corrie herself.
I was completely taken by how Corrie and her sister Betsy were able to keep so much hate from entering their hearts for their captors and for that matter all the bad that was happening around them. It was amazing to hear of all the good they were able to accomplish through the underground and the many lives that were touched by such a loving family. The story talks much of the work they accomplished for years prior to the capture of her family and each persons involvement as well as her life prior to the invasion of Holland. So the story does not linger on how much bad had occured after they were captured and is not so sullan as to depress the listener. It gave me a new found respect for the affection of others and also how God was able to heal and protect during such a tumultuous time.
"Fantastic Book and Fantastic Reading of it!"
I was turned onto this book by an excerpt of it from a Sunday school message. It is a great story and greatly challenges and convicts. Her and her sister Betsy's ability to forgive is flat out amazing and puts into perspective how petty some of the items people are unforgiving over. I HIGHLY recommend this book and the reading of it.
"Always been a favorite!"
This Book has always been one of my favs! Great listen, daunting story, makes you appreciate life in so many avenues.
"Wasn't prepared to be this inspired"
What a great book! Not only is her story inspirational but her writing is excellent. I very much enjoyed this narrator and felt as if it were Corrie reading it herself. This is a must read!
"Wonderful book"
Great personal history. Very inspiring. Corrie Ten Boom is a real woman of God and her sister and father are true examples of how Christ uses us and protects us no matter what the situtiation.
"Life Has Purpose"
This is a true, first person account of a horrific situation, where hopelessness and despair have become a way of life. Corrie ten Boom, and her family are given the opportunity to put their faith in God into action and show what He can do.
The setting is Holland during the German occupation. The ten Boom's create a 'Hiding Place' for the Jews until they can be smuggled out of Holland. This is the story of how they were able to help many Jews to escape and the price that they paid for doing so.
This is a a story where we can see that God has His hand in all situations, and how He will use even our small faith to do mighty things, if only we put our lives into His hands.
A great Listen that will help you see God in even the most difficult situations.
"Riveting"
Yes, because the narrator makes me feel like I am actually hearing Corrie Ten Boom. I read the print version several years ago and the audio version has been even better!
Corrie of course, because it is a first person narrative, but she is quite adept at bringing out the characters or each of the other people in the book--even the men.
This is an extremely sad and serious book overall, but it is not depressing. Throughout the book, the grace and sovereignty of God is evident.
God promises in Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" and The Hiding Place is evidence of His faithfulness to this promise.
An eager voyager. Bags are packed. Passport is ready. Let's go.
"A "Must Listen" for All"
Inspiring. Humbling. Precious.
The best thing about this story is that even after listening to it thirty years after I first read it, it still is able to draw me in, sit me down in the story, and keep my head and my heart engaged.
Bernadette Dunne cared about what she did. She cared about the characters. She erased the line between story and listener.
Forgiveness. When Corrie is able to draw on her sister's courage and sense of mercy and forgive.
It would be good if this book were heard or read by young women seeking heroines.
"A Must Read"
Yes, very moving book and I know that I miss pieces when listening because my attention may be drawn away. I believe that a person would benefit from more than one time through this book.
The book of Revelation. The trials that those people endured had to seem to them like they were living in the end times.
She brings a personality to each character in the book with the influx of emotion and diction in her voice.
So many. But the ending when Betsy's visions are realized by her sister.
