During World War II, the Droods made a pact with some nasty buggers from another dimension known as the Loathly Ones, which they needed to fight the Nazis. But once the war was over, the Loathly Ones decided that they liked this world too much to leave. Now it's up to Eddie to make things very uncomfortable for them, or watch everything humanity holds dear go up in smoke.

"Fun Book"
I enjoyed the story and the narrator. I'm waiting for the third book in this series!
Say something about yourself!
"Demons brings it back."
As we meet some new characters we also find some of the ones from previous books come to light again this is what I love about these simon r green book
You might want to go back to the series prior to this and it will help you to better understand but if this is where you going to begin you really haven't missed anything because they really slow and can be read all by themselves
I don't really have a favorite thing everything is my favorite well done.
The thing I like about his books is they always build on your emotions and sometimes you wanna just keep on going but you have to stop save it for another time I enjoy doing that
"Daemons Are Forever"
Daemons are Forever is book two in the Secret Histories series of novels set in a world of science, magic, secret agents and powerful supernatural enemies, with an homage to the world of James Bond in every title. There are easily recognizable character names and types from the Bond world as well. The protagonist is Eddie Drood, or Shaman Bond when he is undercover. Shaman has an ???Uncle James??? who is legendary for his skills as a field agent. You will also recognize Bond character analogs in the Armourer and the Matriarch .
These books are fun. There are are a ton of little holes in the action and character thought processes where you wonder ???why did they do that???? or ???Why didn???t they just do X???? It doesn???t matter too much though. Just go with it. The writing is fun and creative with lots of great character and place names. Thinking up witty names, new species and magical characters is probably just as much fun for the author as it is for the reader to enjoy. I???m looking forward to more action in this world and the next installment from Simon R. Green, The Spy Who Haunted Me.
"Stuart Binder is Pitch Perfect!"
I love Simon R Green Books- Especially the Nightside Series.. & wasn't disappointed in the 1st book of this series. The Man with the Golden Torc.
Mr. Blinder does a great job of narrating the story...
Just be prepared to menatally skip past all the whining about "Everything for the Family"...I'm not sure what Mr. Green is doing..His Nightside books also have constant references to John Taylors' "Special Gift," and tho some have complained about that, it hasn't bothered me, until this book. Otherwise, it's a fast paced, rollicking, adventure!
"Eddie does it again"
Fun listen and a great read. Hope that Audible releases the 3rd book soon.
