Publisher's Summary

In her most stunning, riveting, unstoppable novel yet, best-selling and critically acclaimed author Tracy Brown delivers the not-to-be-missed sequel to Snapped.

Misa has confessed to the murder of drug lord Steven Bingham, her sister’s brother-in-law, and everything is turned upside down. Misa faces jail time and the loss of her son forever, Frankie is out for revenge, and Camille has just dropped another bomb on Frankie, telling her estranged husband (and his mistress) that she is pregnant with his child.

Their friends, Dominique and Toya, gather around Camille and Misa in their time of need, but storm clouds have gathered over their own lives as well. Dominique’s daughter has gone missing, and a dark figure from Toya’s past has come back with a vengeance. Against the backdrop of a high-profile murder case, these four friends will band together like they never have before as they confront the demons of their pasts and an uncertain future. And in the end, they will be forever changed.

    "Consequences..."
Is there anything you would change about this book?

This book could've been writtin in under 400 pages, but it seems the author was concerned w/details. With the number of characters and detail it made this a long book which wasn't a good pick for a BOTM read. One of our members choose it as our monthly read, we have reveiwers in our group, and members who have personals reads they want to get to and a life...Trying to fit in a book is already a challenge but one over 400 pages is huge.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

How all the characters were connected in some way, blood, marriage or sisterhood.

What three words best describe Allyson Johnson’s performance?

    ExcitingVividblazed

Was Aftermath worth the listening time?

    Yes

    "Snapped and Aftermath"

This book was absolutely fabulous. I bought Snapped first and immediately bought Aftermath. I hope there is another book coming. I would love more on Frankie, Gillian and Camille. Also on Baron and Misa. Tracy Brown is a great writer. I was captivated and couldn't stop listening.

    "Interesting story, but..."
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

As a way to fill my drive-time, this long story was adequate.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    The Racketeer by John Grisham.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When the mom brought her pregnant teenager home.

Did Aftermath inspire you to do anything?

To appreciate the daily struggles of those forced into survival because of the limited moral and social development.

    Any additional comments?

Too many vulgarities and lack of depth to the story.

    "Good follow up to Snapped"

Great storyline, keeps you interested the whole way through. If you read Snapped, you were wondering what happened and this second novel does not dissapoint! It kept me interested until the very end. Enjoyed the characters.

    Story
    "Aftermath: Disappointment"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not sure. It was pretty slow moving and disjointed and at times, difficult to follow.

What could Tracy Brown have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Ms. Brown could have made the sub-plots less erratic and more cohesive to the overall story. In this book, her sub-plots seemed to jump around all over the place, the characters did not seem to have real depth and the sub-plots did not unify the whole story. Also, the end was anti-climatic.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I did not like the narrator. Many times I sat the audiobook down because I could not get pass the narrator's voice in this book. Not enough variations between the characters' voices.

What character would you cut from Aftermath?

Toya did not belong in this story. She did not seem to fit in well. Her story seemed to be an after-thought.

    Any additional comments?

I really liked the White Lines I and White Lines II series. The characters seemed alive and less forced in those two books. I bought Snapped: Aftermath because I thoroughly enjoyed the White Lines series. I was disappointed with this book and I will not buy Snapped.
