Publisher's Summary

Homicide Detective J. P. Beaumont had little to go on: a body, definitely male and decidedly dead, with strange little puncture wounds.

    "Taking the Fifth"

A friend had introduced my to J.A. Jance books and I started the the Joanne Brady series and have enjoyed it. Read a few of the new Beaumont books but now have started at the beginning and working my way though. Beaumont has changed over the books which I find interesting. In this book Beaumont thinks or feels the main suspect is being framed. The book has interesting twists and turns and I was beginning to wonder how it was all going to tie together but Jance did a good job doing so. Enjoy the descriptions of Seattle.

"I'm sure others will like this"

Not my cup of tea. As a woman, I found the writing weirdly obnoxious and sexist (and I'm not usually like that) and I disliked the chararcter finding him rather pompous and stupid. I tried to like it right up to the end. I have heard very nice things about this author so I am hoping that others pay me no mind and give this audiobook a try

Just startedlistening to Jance's books. She is a great writer, and these are her early works. A little bit weird to read about things happening in the 80s without cell phones and tons of computers in everyone's homes, but a g

JA Jance is worth the investment if you want a to turn off and let someone else entertain you. Jance writes clearly and precisely and engages her readers in the problems that beset our society challenging our predjudice's and stereo-types.

    "One dimensional characters fell flat"

I've read several of J A Jance's Joanne Brady books and liked them. I thought I would give this series a go. Right from the beginning I was put off by the voice of the narrator. The voices are annoying and one sounds like a bad John Wayne. The characters felt flat. I can't listen to any more books by this narrator. The story, don't have a clue if it is good or bad.
