Jubal Sackett: The Sacketts, Book 4

Our family LOVES the Sackett Series. It's to bad that Louis died before he could finish all he intended in the series. The history is fasitating, the chacters are real as you listen to the story line. Each book goes along with the others but does not have to be in order to understand the story. We have listened to several of the stories more than once. In fact we had most all of the Sackett books on tape or CD and are now purchacing them all over again through Audible. Anyone interested in early American history and lore will appricate all of the series. Jubal Sackett is the longest of the books in the series, and our favorite, so far.

Another great book. Jubal finally finds his "mate", but still doesn't completely settle down. Fast action all the way from beginning to end. Very well narrated by John Curless, as always. Don't miss this one.....

Gotta love Louis L'Amour books - such quick easy reads! This one dragged on a bit, but if you are reading the series, you need to read this one anyway. :-)

I have the book and love it and love this audio version even more. John Curless did a good job bringing the characters to life.

My father exposed me to L'Amour when I was a child. Dad's favorites where Westerns like Hondo. I was aware of the Sackett saga, but hadn't really got into them until Audible. If you find Curless difficult give him a chance through a few chapters. The narrator of these stories shouldn't sound like John Wayne. Jonn Curless it spot on. What can you say about L'Amour he was a master story teller and the The Sacketts is his masterpiece. I have listened to over 65 titles of various genere, but this is one of the rare ones I will listen to again.

L'Amour's writing is from an era and that shouldn't be changed, but I find his writing a little naive.

For the one who cannot see the great outdoors, explore with the best. live history while you run through the woods as one of the first white man to explore our country.

Good story line and good characters makes this another must listen to book. Jubal continues to carry the Sackett family further west, making friends and enemies along the way.
