"Narrator ruined it!"
The narrator is NOT suited for this book (or profession). She does not even attempt the British accents. She uses the same voice for everyone regardless of gender, age, country of origin, etc. No voice modulation to distinguish emotions. Just bad! I started and stopped three times before I gave up at the 1hr 38 min mark. I have listened to hundreds of books, however, this is my first review. I just couldn't let innocent credits be lost without warning. Buyer beware!

"Narrator is awful"
Would you try another book from Victoria Alexander and/or Amy Cardy?I would try another book from Alexander, but never from Cardy.
If you???ve listened to books by Victoria Alexander before, how does this one compare?I've liked other books by this author.

"Narration?"
This is a case of the narrator ruining the story. I could not tell who was talking, because all the voices sounded alike. The males sounded like females, the females sounded like males, the British sounded American ...and they all sounded alike. I did not make it through the first half of the story, so I don't know if the story itself was worth a credit - but I'm thinking not. Save your money.

"Dreadful indeed"
What disappointed you about The Princess and the Pea?The story was uneventful, the characters shallow and the dialogue repetitive. It was more like an advertisement for America than a romance novel. I didn't like either of the main characters and was completely unengaged with the outcome of their relationship. I've enjoyed other books by Victoria Alexander but this was a stinker!
Would you ever listen to anything by Victoria Alexander again?Yes.
What didn’t you like about Amy Cardy’s performance?All the characters sounded the same and the narrator couldn't do an English accent at all.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Princess and the Pea?All the repetitive dialogue about American ingenuity. Talk about stating the obvious.
Any additional comments?This audiobook should be withdrawn from sale. It was so awful it gives audiobooks a bad name.
