The Kingdom: A Fargo Adventure

I've been a long time reader and listener of Clive Cussler's books. I relish an adventure with Dirk and Al as much as any other Cussler fan. I really enjoy the stories with Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon. I have also found great enjoyment in our intrepid detective, Isaac Bell. However for some reason Sam and Remi are fast becoming my favourite Cussler protagonists. I don't know why for sure but I'm thinking it is the interaction of a married couple. It's similar to my enjoyment of the original Hometime series where Dean and his female co host would act the role of a couple doing whatever the episode was focused on. It brings the story home to me. Although my wife and I have no experiences like the Fargo's do their banter back and forth and unshakable faith in one another is something I can relate to.
The Kingdom, the latest Fargo offering from Mr. Cussler, is a very enjoyable ride. A great weaving together of history and adventure that makes you want to not stop the story. In my humble opinion Scott Brick should be the ONLY voice of Cussler books as he delivers another sterling performance.
You will not be disappointed with the journey you'll take in "The Kingdom"

I've been a long time listener of Clive Cussler too. From Dirk and Al, Isaac Bell, Juan's crew, Kurt and Joe and now Sam and Remi. Its a wonderful book, a great summer read. Scott Brick is the man! Nobody reads a book like Scott. Towards the end of this book it seems like Cussler could have written so much more about the adventure, but I just didnt want it to end. Bravo to Cussler and all his ghost writers and their stories. However, at then end of the book I would love it if Cussler sepearted fact from fiction, like Steve Berry does. Do these places in the book exist and did some of these treasures exist.

this was a good book for it's type. If you oike the Fargo's adventures you'll love this one. It is probably the best in the series. Unfortunately, this just isn't my type. I much prefer the NUMA and Especially like the Oregon series

Almost as good as Spartan Gold. I enjoy the Fargo's and this in another entertaining read.

Another intriguing story with the Fargos sent off to help a friend and then find themselves having another life changing adventure. The story is mostly set in Nepal but travels into Asia and the surrounding areas. So for people who don't like books that take them away from the US then Cussler is not your author. Cussler makes an appearance as he has in the last several books giving advice to steer the story back on course or in the direction best suited to complete a task. I, again, would recommend the Fargo Adventures to any fan of Cussler and fans of the action adventure genre.

It was very captivating, had some well placed humor, had interesting historical facts and I enjoyed the characters and the reader. Clive Cussler doesn't dissapoint!

i may have been nursed too much by D Pitt but it seems the TWO characters herein are too good, rich, smart, romantic to be true - the story as always is fantastic - then maybe its me wishing for someone(s) believable

Not bad, not awesome, good summer "round the world with the Fargo's" . Some of this really stretches the suspension of disbelief efforts, but on balance good fun. His bad guys are usually rather entertaining.

When I buy a book with Clive Cussler’s name on it, I want it to read like he at least reviewed the book, and this one didn’t. You could tell it was written almost 100% by Grant Blackwood. Although it was an entertaining read, it wasn’t up to the normal Sam and Remi standards, and I normally really enjoy reading about their exploits.

Ok, I'm a fan of Clive Cussler series. That being said: there is a cheese-y factor to the dialogue between characters consistently. If you don't take the books too seriously, you can enjoy the ride and sometimes learn some interesting factoids...
This book falls into the typical Cussler recipe: fast-moving and fun with a bit of danger and mystery thrown in.
He does not write women very well - they are all caricatures, Barbie meets Lara Croft. But they have improved over the years and I do give him credit for trying to make them a little more human with humor.
But if you enjoy action/adventure without a lot of graphic gore or sex (one of the reasons I consistently reach for his books) you'll probably enjoy this and other Cussler reads.
