The Spy: An Isaac Bell Adventure

Isaac Bell and the Van Dorn agency is introduced into the worl of espionage. It has more surprises and unexpected happenings than I'm used to with Cussler. The characters are a bit predictible in their actions but it is still entertaining. The ending was a surprise. Scott Brick does an excellent job as narrator. Personally, I prefer his novels in our current times, but that is just my preference.

Scott Brick does another outstanding job as a multi-voiced narrator... he's simply the best. As for the book, another Clive Cussler (and Justin Scott) work of art. Incredible research into the history of naval operations, New York and Washington D.C. in circa 1905 which are the setting for this crime mystery of the time. Interesting, suspenseful, outstanding characters (which only Brick can bring to life) and a great story to boot. Loved the book!

The book has all of the intrigue and suspense of a classic spy novel. Allot of it takes place in New York City and, being a native, it was fun to track the locations. But the book goes beyond that in complexity and the narraton is supurb.

I think this is one Cussler's best

This was an excellent audio book. The words brought wonderful images to your mind and kept you wanting more. The characters were magnificently to life with amazing background that made you like and hate them. I recommend this book and the narrator was great with his accents, inflections and pauses for effect and drama.

I am not a naval buff or generally interested in naval history, but this story was full of adventure and a good historical look at life at the turn of the 20th century. My husband is a Cussler fan, so I decided to try it. We listened to it together on a long road trip and I was totally absored in the story. If you are interested in fast action, naval vessels, spy tactics, and 'manly men', you will like this story.

This book keeps it real and this reader guessing and jumping. Isaac Bell gets the job done in style without the high tech and the fancy wizz-bangs of today. A good book and a great listen!

This is a great series. I can't wait to dig my claws ito the next book. The characters are excellent! I could totally see Dirk Pitt reading all about Issac Bell. :-)

this was entertaining but really geared towards younger readers, teenage boys I would say. Big fan of Scott Brick though.

Another great book by Cussler - with Issac bell. Not near as good as the Wrecker, that one was AWESOME, but still this one was excellent - you cant go wrong with Cussler
