"Terrible Summary"
Fabulous romance with an interesting twist but don't count on the publisher's summary to make a decision to buy. The glaring errors in the publisher's summary make me think that the publisher never read the book. The plot is terrific but the summary is really off the mark. Bess is majoring in counseling not fashion design. She is not a waitress but the manager of a sweets store in a tourist town. She is dating a "towny", Nick, but there was no indication that her family would not approve of him but would be surprized and question her because they knew her longtime boyfriend,Andy. Nick had had a terrible childhood and wasn't going to college and seemed like a misdirected but nice guy underneath. Beth didn't want to explain herself because she wasn't confident of her relationship with Nick and "it was none of their business". Andy is a philandering cad not an intellectual but he did have plenty of money. There was not much to chose between to two young men except that Andy was a cheating liar and Nick wasn't directed but meant well and both of the men manipulated Bess. The young Bess made some bad choices and as a result had to make some very difficult decisions later in her life. The plot centers on information gathering and decision making process with sex and relationships both past and present thwown into the mix.

"Best summer read so far!"
This is probably one of the best stories I have listened to in a long time. When I first started listening I was not sure how I would like the flash backs to then/now but once I got into the story I could not stop listening. As stated in the earlier review, the summary is very misleading and not at all what the book is about. Nick is not a "bad boy" and no one in Bess' family ever disapproved of him because they never met him. Bess did not have him over because she did not want to explain why she was seeing Nick when she was supposed to have a boyfriend, Andy, back at home. In addition, her parents were not even at the summer house just a parade of different relatives each week. Bess was not a waitress she was the manager of an ice cream shop. This was a great summer romance with a twist of something different. Definitely worth a credit or your money. Narrator was excellent too!
"Couldn't Get Enough"
I can hardly express how much I loved this telling. Every aspect moved me, emotionally, mentally, and sexually. I couldn't wait to hear how the story unfolded. It was the perfect mix of romance, sex, and drama. Others should take note of how it's done. Erotica doesn't mean that all of your mental and emotional synapses and wants have to be ignored or set aside for a romp in the hay. Hart shows how to mix everything that makes romance and great, raw sex so yummy with characters who are real and have depth.
"Another GREAT one!"
Megan Hart is an amazing story teller, never failing to make you believe even the paranormal is reality. Her characters are so vividly burned into your head and heart you find yourself totally caught up in each one. I love the way she weaves characters from other books so very subtly into this one. Read "Deeper" as the 5th installment after first reading in this order 1.Dirty, 2.Broken, 3.Stranger, 4.Tempted.
Hart's deep psychological analysis of her characters makes for an intellectual read as well as an enjoyable sexually exciting experience. Can't wait for her next book. Smart and sexy books are rare but these meet all the criteria. If you do not like explicit language, then you could not enjoy the intelligence of her writings. The erotic descriptions are only second to the psychologically smart way she takes her characters apart, piece by piece allowing them to become almost real in your mind's eye.
"WOW"
This book was NOT AT ALL what I expected.
So much heartbreak. I finished it yesterday and my stomach is still all tied up in knots.
About the narrator, I've said it before and will say it each time I listen to her...Absolutely fantastic. The best I've ever heard. No one else brings a story alive like Savannah Richards.
Now I'm off to find other titles that she reads.
"Quintessential Hart"
All Megan Harts books have deep emotion, often twisted from rough handling that she explores ruthlessly through sex, sensuality and love. Though some of her themes stem from the darker parts of the soul, this is the only one of her stories that is really sad, however. The fantasy aspect is believable, and almost more credible than the choices Bess eventually makes. Bess as an emotional doormat is too far fetched. Some of the mistakes are just not realistic. Andy is too awful and the other characters? Some of their actions are too shallow to keep the reader sympathetic. Maybe the fantasy is meant to be the real part.
Regardless, this book is quintessential Hart. She writes books so well that you cannot go wrong picking this up. I would not recommend this be your first novel to read. Strangers is my favorite. Dirty and Tempted are good too. Read them first.
I hope audible offers the Order of Solace books sometime, too.

"GOOD STORY"
LOVE THE CHARACTORS, AND THE NARRATOR. THE STORY WAS GREAT AND KIND OF SAD WHEN YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENS. BUT I HAVE LISTENED TO IT SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL ENJOY.
"Best Megan Hart book so far"
I have enjoyed every Megan Hart book I have read but this one hands down was my favorite. It can be labled as a paranormal romance as well. I loved the development of the story transitioning from past to present. I wish the ending would have found the miracle I was looking for in the book but what is a romance without loss.
