"Great book, fun"
If you like Colombo, this books is for you. Great story. It does have a Christian theme so don't download this book and complain about that. It brings a nice mix of the need for salvation and the things that typically trip people up. Great suspense and surprise. Enjoy the listen
"Fun Read"
Some reviewers have appeared upset that this book is based on a Christian world view and that Audible did not make that clear. But I've listened to a lot of books that were pushing New Age or some other doctrine and were simply listed as Sci Fi or fiction etc. with no hint as to the author's philosophy. So at least Audible is consistent. Besides it would be impossible to classify every book based on the world view of the author and unfair to mark only books written by authors who are Christians for special labeling.
The bottom line is that Alcorn has done a nice job in writing a hard boiled detective novel that is clean and wholesome. It was interesting, thought provoking and just plain fun. And I should also mention that the narrator did a great job and his voice characterizations made this an easy listen. In my opinion definitely worth a credit.

"A Fun Read to the END"
The humor throughout the story.
Yes!
The narrator made me picture the characters more vivid than if I had read the book.
There were many for me. I think my favorite is when the main character daughter paid a visit, and brought him desert for his birthday. He had already eaten, but he hid the evidence. I thought it was sweet.
I love the suspense. The theme is so well blended that it enhanced the story. I'm a christain, but I have read many christain stories that bored me. Deception is fun, and there is lots of action. I want spoil it, but the reveal of the killer was a shocker.
"Worth more than one listen"
I bought this book several years ago. Enjoyed it then and again today. The narration is perfect for the story. There were negative comments in the reviews about the Christian emphasis in the story. I don't care to be preached to but I found the religious content to be in keeping with the story. The reader is free to choose his response to what is presented. Good listen.
"Definitely Deceptive Description"
This is the third time in the last month that I have purchased a book only to discover that the book is about prophisizing Christianity, not the mystery that the description led me to believe. As somone who is adamently opposed to evangelical Christianity I was extremely offended by this book.
I am very disppointed that the description failed to mention that the books is preaching to convert the protagonist to Christianity, discussions between evangelical Christians and other conversations with God including those of the protagonist's dead wife.
I sincerely hope that Audible will add to the description of this and other "Christian" based books that they are evangelical so that those who want that sort of book know and those of us that don't won't feel tricked when listened.
"Truly deceptive description"
The description of the book needs to include the information that this is an evangelical Christian book. A main theme of it is the conversion of the main character and the role of Christianity in the other characters with conversations between the deceased wife and God... It became very irritating to those of us who thought we were simplye buying a mystery.
