    Writer and Reader and brilliant.
Short, simple and to the point. Want some great moments listening to the writing of one artist, spoken by another?

    "Great Book!"

It's been awhile since I've been moved to write a review. Several listens lately have been rather dull. A couple I just couldn't finish. Perhaps I'll give them another shot later. This book, however, keep my attention. The writing was crisp and entertaining. The narrator, a bit overzealous at times, but very easy to listen to. Some would probably say the story was predictable, but it was still a good story.

    Enjoy!

    "Solid and Intriguing"
If you could sum up Suspect in three words, what would they be?

    Psychological, Smart, Consistent

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not necessarily a thrill-ride, but smart and intriguing. I found myself invested in the characters and the outcome.

Which character – as performed by Simon Prebble – was your favorite?

I like little Charly. I read book 4 first and know about this family and characters already, so seeing her as a little girl was fun.

    Any additional comments?

I read a later book first and find that the Parkinson's and cutting are a continued theme. Not bad, just an observation. I like the narrators accent and style. I also like the quick explanations of psychology experiments or principles throughout. I am a Psych major and appreciate the effort. Great characters and narration. I intend to listen to the whole series.

    "Wrong Order"

I managed to read Lost before I read Suspect but luckily that did not detract anything from this book, Michael Robothams main characters are so real, no Hollywood veneer used. I think the richness of detail in the flaws and mannerisms of his characters combined with his plots which like a long carpet that keeps unrolling reveal more detail and story intrigue with every passing page/minute and that makes both Suspect and Lost books that are hard to put down. I want to read more...

"WOW!!....knocked my socks off in suspense..."
What made the experience of listening to Suspect the most enjoyable?

The brilliant pairing of Simon Prebble and Michael Robotham, made this a listening pleasure.
So happy to have discovered Michael Robotham and immediately downloaded his other books narrated by Simon and Sean Barrett. I'm in 'mystery' Nivana...thanks, Audible!

What about Simon Prebble’s performance did you like?

BRILLIANT....He makes a book come alive...I could never get tired of his narrations.

Not a writer, a writer wannabe, editor, lit maj, or pretend literary critic. Just an avid reader and now avid listener. I read at least one book a week and listen to an average of two per week. However, I am a snob and have yet to listen to my favorite novels preferring still to read some works.

This was actually a good story, but I had serious issues with stupidity Joe displayed at certain points. It was beyond credulity, I almost stopped listening at two points, but ended up sticking it out and did enjoy the book overall. All I could think of was the woman in a slasher film limping along in high heels, he was that stupid and it almost ruined it for me.

I may try another by the same author, but it won't be anytime soon. The publisher's summary was an accurate description of the plot.

What made the experience of listening to Suspect the most enjoyable?

I was able to enjoy the story while performing a multitude of tasks. Occasionally, I nodded off listening to Simon's calm and relaxing voice.

Would you be willing to try another book from Michael Robotham? Why or why not?

Absolutely. He writes a very good mystery with interesting characters and a quick pace.

Have you listened to any of Simon Prebble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but I love the sound of his voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

That would have been wonderful, if I had the time.

    Any additional comments?

Don't make the same mistake I did! Read the books in proper succession!

    "Enjoyable and suspenseful"

This book kept me interested throughout. The author was adept at maintaining the suspense and keeping me guessing about the identity of the killer. Although Simon Prebble sounded older to me than the 42-year-old character he was portraying, he made up for this through his skilled narration. He is definitely a master of pacing, inflection, pitch, etc. His acting ability, combined with the author's story, made this a book I will recommend to my friends.

The author likes to make political statements that have nothing to do with the story. It is very jarring, takes you right out of the story.
